INTRODUCTION

Today we are finishing our series on Stewardship. We’ve spent the last 2 weeks looking at we can do to be faithful stewards of what God has given us, specifically our attitudes and our time. Today we are going to see what God’s Word has to say about being good stewards of our money. Let’s begin by taking a closer look at our focal text. The first thing we see is:

I. WE ARE EITHER SLAVES TO GOD OR MONEY(Read Matt 6:24)

A. There are two words I want us to look at

1. Master: One who has complete charge over what belongs to Him

2. Serve: The Greek word means slave (Read I Cor 7:22-23)

3. Choice: Unlike traditional slavery God gives us a choice

II. THERE ARE SIGNS OF ONE WHO SERVES MONEY

A. They don’t like to hear messages on tithing.

a. I earned it so I can spend it the way I want.

B. They never have enough (Read ECC 5:10)

a. Becaue of their unfaithful ness God can’t bless them with more (Read Luke 16:10-12)

C. They give sporadically. (Read I Cor 16:1-2)

III. GOD REWARDS THOSE WHO PUT HIM FIRST (Read Matt 6:33)

A. God will take care of ALL our needs if we will trust him with everything we have.

B. God’s love isn’t based on the amount we give.

CONCLUSION

Give God what is rightfully His and you will never want for your needs.
