VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. Accomplish the will of GOD using steadfast patience and endurance

"For you have need of steadfast patience and endurance, so that you may perform and fully accomplish the will of God,"

Patience or "hupomone" in Greek meaning:

1. steadfastness, constancy, endurance

2. a patient, steadfast waiting for

3. a patient enduring, sustaining, perseverance

Will or "thelema" in Greek meaning:

1. what one wishes or has determined shall be done

2. will, choice, inclination, desire, pleasure

Hebrews 6:15 (Amplified Bible)

6:15 And so it was that he [Abraham], having waited long and endured patiently, realized and obtained [in the birth of Isaac as a pledge of what was to come] what God had promised him.

Hebrews 12:1 (Amplified Bible)

12:1 THEREFORE THEN, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us,

Psalms 37:7 (Amplified Bible)

37:7 Be still and rest in the Lord; wait for Him and patiently lean yourself upon Him; fret not yourself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass.

Matthew 24:13 (Amplified Bible)

24:13 But he who endures to the end will be saved.

When we do the will of GOD, all others retaliate and react for you not to finish GOD's will, but keep on doing it, in doing so you receive more of GOD's Patience and endurance but the step of faith has to come from us, and GOD will do the rest of the steps. It's a walk of faith.

To illustrate, it's GOD's will for us to share His WORDS to the people, so when you do it, you share GOD's WORDS, other react, others even persecute you, keep on doing it, and you will receive more patience and more endurance.

Luke 5:32 (Amplified Bible)

5:32 I have not come to arouse and invite and call the righteous, but the erring ones (those not free from sin) to repentance [to change their minds for the better and heartily to amend their ways, with abhorrence of their past sins].

2 Peter 3:9 (Amplified Bible)

3:9 The Lord does not delay and is not tardy or slow about what He promises, according to some people’s conception of slowness, but He is long-suffering (extraordinarily patient) toward you, not desiring that any should perish, but that all should turn to repentance.

1 Corinthians 1:18 (Amplified Bible)

1:18 For the story and message of the cross is sheer absurdity and folly to those who are perishing and on their way to perdition, but to us who are being saved it is the [manifestation of] the power of God.

Illustration: There's a prayer for patience that goes like this: "LORD, pls give me patience RIGHT NOW!". Yeah GOD will hear your prayers, but He will give you His will for you to do and you will end up receiving patience and endurance. What use is patience if you will not endure?

B. Receive GOD's promise

"and thus receive and carry away [and enjoy to the full] what is promised"
