Summary: We should be commited to God, not because of fear, guilt, shame or pressure, but because of who God is. God is personal, perfect, and He will not let us go!

WHO IS GOD?

We should be commited to God, not because of fear, guilt, shame or pressure, but because of who God is.

Commitment: God is commited to Us

Illus: Parents took their troubled Johnny to see the pastor. The pastor asks “Where is God?” three times. Johnny runs home scared. When another brother asks “What’s wrong?” Johnny replied, ‘God’s missing and they’re blaming me!’

God’s NOT LOST: GOD IS COMMITED! No matter what happens, God never changes!

Introduction: Why should we be commited to God?

We have been discussing right relationships, dating, and marriage God’s way. But we got our principles before our passion. If we don’t love Jesus, we won’t do what He says. If we love Jesus, we will obey Him. Love and commitment go together.

WHAT DOES COMMITMENT LOOK LIKE? Jesus!

Do you see Jesus? He is more than a ticket, a principle. He is real and He loves you! Do you hear God calling your name? Will you love Him?

ANSWER: We should not be commited to God because of guilt, shame, or pressure, but because of who He is. He is Personal, He is Perfect, He won’t let us go, He did the work for us. He is Committed! Not because of us, because of Him!

How are you loving Jesus right now? Why do we worship, pray…? Why do we do what we do? JESUS!
