Summary: Encouragement for Kingdom workers

What is a calling to service?

In Christian terms, a calling can be defined as YAHWEH’s specific instruction.

Who is called?

Generally, all are called either specifically or generally.

The general call to all is first to get saved and then preach the gospel to all. After this, the call to service can be pastoral, healing or other ministry as the SPIRIT of YAHWEH may lead. The Bible says that it is not the will of YAHWEH that any should perish but that all should have eternal life. We can therefore say that the first commandment is to accept YAHSHUA as The Salvation sent by YAHWEH to save your soul from eternal damnation. This is the first service that any person can give to YAHWEH and himself because it is re aligning oneself to the  original purpose of YAHWEH before the fall of man. This makes one spirit alive after being dead, hence the saying being born again.

After this, John 14:21 applies, do the will of YAHWEH that is follow HIS commandments after which HE will manifest HIMSELF to  you and if it is HIS will give you further directions. If HE does not then you can safely say that obeying the written word of YAHWEH suffices.

The Bible is full of these instructions as regards everyday life for all kinds of people, kings, rulers, leaders, men, women, children, neighbors, foreigners, preachers, wives, husbands, brothers, sisters, lenders, borrowers, soldiers and servants. Following the instructions in the bible leads to the second most important aspect of service to YAHWEH. The first instruction is to give your life to HIM.

When are you called to service?

Before being put in your mother’s womb /Before you were conceived.

The Bible says that we existed in YAHWEH’s mind before conception and HE had a good purpose for us. However, sin and ancestral problems interfere with this call. However, by the power in the blood Of YAHSHUA all these bondages and hindrances can be dealt with and one can be on the way to enjoying the call to service  as envisioned by YAHWEH. This is sometimes called deliverance. It frees people from bondage to enable them serve YAHWEH and fulfill the purposes of YAHWEH for their lives.

2. At creation of man.

The bible says that YAHWEH intended man to serve HIM by ruling over creation and fellowshipping with HIM. This intention has not changed despite the interference of satan and his demons. YAHSHUA has restored those who believe in HIM back to their original position as was before the fall of man.

3. At your decision

YAHWEH calls you to service the moment you choose to surrender to him. The message is not get saved and die but rather get saved, live and serve YAHWEH as is written and as is expressly revealed to you by YAHWEH. Contrary to what many think, YAHWEH speaks. However, the question begs “Will we listen and do?” Even we, when we know that our instructions will not be followed to the letter are reluctant to give these instructions.

4. YAHWEH also calls us to serve as circumstances arise.

An illustration of this is David and Goliath. There was an army with a giant attacking Israel. David saw an opportunity to defend YAHWEH, took it and launched his service to YAHWEH then Israel. Another illustration is Daniel who having read the writings of his people deciphered that the time of the visitation was near and began seeking the face of YAHWEH. The result not only do we have a supplementary book to Revelation, Daniel served in three different regimes, served as an administrator and later YAHWEH began to use him as a Prophet. In difficult circumstances, when we seek the face of YAHWEH from the story of Daniel we learn that even before we call HE answers and shows us great things.

5. YAHWEH also calls us to serve when our capacity grows.

An illustration of this is Peter. Peter a fisherman was called by YAHSHUA personally. He failed several times and at one point even gave up on service to YAYSHUA but was called back, strengthened and instructed to feed the sheep of YAHSHUA. He waited for the PROMISE OF THE FATHER, the HOLY SPIRIT was empowered and became a powerful preacher and wrote two books of the New Testament.

6. YAHWEH also calls us to serve at the discretion of the SPIRIT of YAHWEH.

An illustration of this is Philip, the apostle who one day whilst walking came across an Ethiopian official to whom he interpreted the scriptures. The SPIRIT of YAHWEH then whisked him to another place.

Another example is Elijah who closed the skies for three years and opened them. There is no account of YAHWEH instructing him, but HE operated under the SPIRIT of YAHWEH effectively and the result YAHWEH was exalted in the eyes of all. When we say the YAHWEH of Fire, or the YAHWEH who answers by fire, we all have Elijah, his obedience and the fire that came down from heaven even before Elijah said “Amen”  in mind.
