The Words we speak – We are connected to what we
confess and declare
The meditation of our heart – What we dwell on will
eventually consume us
They need to be acceptable in His sight
The words we speak –
Proverbs 18:20-21 – Death and Life are in the power of
the tongue
Matthew 12:34-37 – Out of the abundance of the heart
the mouth speaks
Ephesians 4:29 – Let no corrupt communication proceed
out of your mouth
Corrupt - rotten, worthless, unwholesome or
bad
Communication – something said including the thought, also reasoning, the mental faculty, motive
James 3:8-10 – The tongue we bless God and with the
same we curse men.
They ought not to be so but why are they so?
Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth will speak.
What we dwell on will eventually consume us and occupy our heart and are speech will fall in order.
The meditation of my heart –
Genesis 6:5-8 - Imagination of the thoughts of his heart.
Imagination – thing framed, mind purpose,
conception and work
Thought – plot, work, devise, invention and
purpose
Genesis 11:5-9 - Tower of Babel
Imagined – the negative of the above, to plan
in a bad way
II Corinthians 10: 3-5 – Casting down imaginations and
every high thing
Imaginations (logisimos) – Same root word as communication (logos) – reasoning, thoughts, conscience
High thing – elevated barrier
Proverbs 6:16-18 – 7 things God hates
Imaginations – same word as thoughts in Gen. 6
Psalm 19: 14
