Summary: Our church should be the most vital rescue team anywhere!

What would you do if you seen an apartment building, full of people, burning from the ground & going up to consume all 10 stories?

LOOK!

Men, women, children, young, old, & handicap...

Some would start hollering to get help

Some would attempt a rescue

Others would see to it that the needs of the rescuers where met

Still others would be trying to help care for those who are pulled out & rescued.

This apartment building symbolizes our community around us. The whole world is in need, but God has called us here, your home, neighbor, & stranger.

Our church should be the most vital rescue team anywhere!

People are still plunging into hell even when we are having a bad day, to busy, very tired, even when we feel sick in our body.

Are we being an effective rescue team in our local area?

Jesus is calling us to action!

I. First to get rid of religious piety:

Luke 10:31 NLT By chance a priest came along. But when he saw the man lying there, he crossed to the other side of the road and passed him by.

Matthew 23:23-26

James 1:22-24 AMP

James 1:26-27

II. Second, Crucify Self & it is Self-Centered Life Style:

The gospel that Jesus came & brought to us is not based on convenience! But rather urgency of the need!

Luke 10:32 NLT A Temple assistant walked over and looked at him lying there, but he also passed by on the other side.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Mark 8:34-38

What was Jesus cross? Gods plan for redeeming lost man.

So our cross is spreading the message to all who have not yet accepted the work of redemption.

Galatians 5:24-25

III. Third, to start a demonstration of True Christianity in our

community;

Luke 10:33 NLT Then a despised Samaritan came along, and when he

saw the man, he felt compassion for him.

This was a man caught in the middle of racial differences &

conflicts. He was also a busy man headed somewhere

But notice; he took time out, spent money, & set-up for a follow

up time.

Luke 10:36-37 NLT Now which of these three would you say was a

neighbor to the man who was attacked by bandits? Jesus asked.

The man replied, The one who showed him mercy. Then Jesus

said, Yes, now go and do the same.

This is very deep if we really get it!
