A Closer Walk with God

Psalm 139

O Lord, You have searched me and known me.

2 You know my sitting down and my rising up;

You understand my thought afar off.

3 You comprehend my path and my lying down,

And are acquainted with all my ways.

4 For there is not a word on my tongue,

But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether.

5 You have hedged me behind and before,

And laid Your hand upon me.

6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;

It is high, I cannot attain it.

7 Where can I go from Your Spirit?

Or where can I flee from Your presence?

8 If I ascend into heaven, You are there;

If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.

9 If I take the wings of the morning,

And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,

10 Even there Your hand shall lead me,

And Your right hand shall hold me.

11 Search me, O God, and know my heart;

Try me, and know my anxieties;

Have you ever spent much time thinking about Gods presence?

David was a shepherd before he was King of Israel

And he had a lot of time to think about his own existence in light of Gods presence.

You see sometimes it takes getting away from people

And getting away from places

And just finding a quiet place of your own to think things out.

You see sometimes God wants to get you away from all the craziness of life

Sometimes He wants us to step away from the heavy load we put on our selfs

If you are like me your weeks are packed full

Baseball games

Soccer games

Sometimes God wants you to step back and take a deep breath

You can tell by reading this scripture that David did some serious thinking about himself

And his relationship With God.

Here in this scripture, David shares thoughts about God with us

The first thing that David comes to realize is that he is not alone in the world.

He Knows that there is a God

He understands that there is the maker

He understands that God is all-knowing, and all powerful

David knows that God holds his every breath in His hands

He understands that God is omiepreasnt

He knows God is everywhere

That's why he wrights

Where can I go from your presents…. That you are not there

Where could I ever hide for the face of the one who made everything

You can tell by reading this chapter in Psalms

That David is awed by God

That he knows that he is noting with the Lord

You see that's the problem with a lot of Christians today

I think we lose our awe of Him

We forget who He is

We forget all that He has done for us

We get some a little bad news and we forget about all the bad times He has already brought us from

When money gets tight

we forget how many times He made a way for us

We forget all the times He got us out of a bad situations

We forget that He spoke the world into excitants

We forget ___before He formed us in the whom He knew us

We forget that He is omiepreasnt

We forget that He is everywhere we go

He is apart of everything we do..

The Bible says that He knows every hair on our heads and has them numbered

I am telling you this morning

When you are hopeless _____ And depression comes in

He is there

When you feel like you have lost all your friends

He is there

When the devil tells you that no one love you that you are all alone

He is there

When you walk away from Him and go back to the world

He is still there

He never Changes

Malachi 3:6

6 For I am the Lord, I change not;

His love for you never changes no matter what you do

No matter how many times you walk away from Him,

He loves you the same

He will never change

He is a friend that sticks closer than a brother

The Bible says He will never leave you or forsake you

Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you?

Be strong and courageous.

Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

Isaiah 41:10

"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

He will never walk away from you ———Its always you walking away from Him
