A FEAST FIT FOR A KING

Many years ago I had a serious dream. I could see this woman in a church. She was very active and moving freely around the congregation. I noted as she moved around, that she would bite a big hunk of flesh out the person to which she was talking.
In this dream,as she left the individual, she had bit away a large lump of flesh; they would often leave bleeding profusely.
The injured individual needed immediate attention. Many never received the attention they needed. Several of the ones she seized with her jaws would remain in the church, but they would always stand at a distance. Their wound was piercing. Many were mentally and emotionally hurt.
She did this over and over. This lady had developed a habitual pattern and seemed to love to cause discomfort and pain to any she touched. There was no shame, or acceptance of the damage she was causing.
This lady had accepted the bait of the enemy and seemed to find great satisfaction of being an instrument of offense, hurt, and pain. She reasoned her work was for the Master?
She had developed a "taste for blood." None was exempt from her control, manipulation, and deadly bite. The wounded individuals had great difficulty overcoming the affect of the bite.
My attention was drawn to the lady that was inherent to bite and devour others. Every time she would take a bite of another, a large piece of her flesh was removed from her body.
This occurred until finally she was just a skeleton. She was just a frame of what she used to be. She had been reduced to a less than minimum life force, no joy, no peace.
Several that she bit with great force, that stayed around her, also developed a like habit and had no shame of biting and offending.
As she bit others she was herself consumed.
We need to avoid cannibalistic Christianity.
To belittle another is to be little. You cannot

Once an improper thought gives way to improper
words there develops improper behavior.
The word of God warns: Gal. 5:15 But if ye bite
and devour one another, take heed that you be not
consumed one of another.
The next day I was reading a work of F. Buechner.
I was amazed how what I was reading answered my
dream. It was very powerful to me and I wrote
Buechner’s words in the front of my Bible.
Of the seven deadly sins, anger is possibly the
To lick your wounds!
To smack your lips over grievances long pas
To roll over your tongue the prospect of bitter
confrontation still to come!
To savor to the last toothsome morsel,
The pain you are given and the pain you are going
to give back!
IN MANY WAYS THIS IS A FEAST FIT FOR A KING!
THE CHIEF DRAWBACK IS THAT WHAT YOU ARE WOLFING
DOWN IS YOURSELF.
THE SKELETON AT THE FEAST IS YOU!
God, teach me to control my tongue. God teach me that my ears are not garbage cans for other’s worthless trash. May I believe the word of God, Matthew 12:36 But I say unto you, THAT EVERY IDLE WORD THAT MEN SHALL SPEAK, THEY SHALL GIVE ACCOUNT THEREOF IN THE DAY OF JUDGMENT.
Some believe that if the words are true it is not gossip. I warn you that some truth should never be repeated.
Years after a fallen pastor’s death, I was visiting his widow. I found these words penned in the broken man’s Bible, Bury the past, or the past will bury you.
