A Foundational Parable Series

Summary: Why is it so important to understand the Parable of the Sower?
1. Jesus indicates that if you do not understand the parable of the sower, you will not have the foundation upon which to build your understanding of other parables.
2. The parable of the sower contains four basic elements that are essential to understanding the kingdom of God:
A. Sowing – spreading the Gospel, investing in eternity
B. The Seed – the Word of God
C. The Ground – the Heart of Man
D. Reaping – eternal productivity
3. At least one of these four elements is found in each of the other kingdom parables in Matthew 13.
