Summary: As someone has said…“As the home goes, so goes the church, as the church goes, so goes the nation.”

1 John 2:14-I have written to you, fathers, Because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, Because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, And you have overcome the wicked one.

Sometimes in church the message to mothers on mother’s day is sweet and light hearted, because the truth is the burden of teaching and raising the children, and even being the spiritual leader has been placed on the mom!

Even thou we know that the bible teaches that men not only to teach biblical principles, we are to be example, we are to lead not only with words but also with actions.

As someone has said…“As the home goes, so goes the church, as the church goes, so goes the nation.”

As pastors we make the mistake, as someone has said, We preach a sermon to mothers and it feels like a Lifetime movie, with love and kindness and sweet words, we preach a sermon to dads and it seems like an episode of “Scared Straight,” where high school students are forced to listen to convicts yell at them about their lives.

So I’m going to do my best not to point out your faults, but encourage you in what you have done and what you are doing right!!

Three things I want to commend you on:

1-Because you have known Him

The greatest gift that you have given your family, is that you’re a Christian, is that you know the Lord as your Savior!

Because that relationship with Him, makes you want to be a better spouse, better parent, a better provider, a better spiritual leader, a better Christian!!

2- Because you are strong

You are strong in your faith, you are strong in your convictions, you are strong in your promises (Your word is your bond).

3- Word of God abides in you

You have made God’s word a part of your life, you read it, you study it, you mediate upon it.

You look for wisdom within its words, you let it guide your decisions, and you let it mode you into the man that God wants you to be!!

You know Him and He knows you!!

Genesis 18:19-For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the LORD, to do righteousness and justice, that the LORD may bring to Abraham what He has spoken to him."

God knows your weakness, He know your strengths, He knows when you tried your hardest, and He knows when you have not!

He knows when you have had good intentions, and when you have not!

He knows all your faults, all your failures, and yet He choose you to be a parent, because He knows you and He knew you would follow Him, that would lean on Him, that you would teach your children and grandchildren about Him!!

I pray for all of us dads, that our children or grandchildren would see Him in our life, in our actions, in our talk, and in our daily walk!!
