Summary: This is a message on what CHANGES God wants to do in us during Revival Services. The message preceeded the Lord’s Supper, where the participant competed a handout on the changes they wanted God to make in their life during Revival.

‘A Lord’s Supper Revival Service’

INTRODUCTION: Tonight we are going to observe ‘The Lord’s Supper’. Some churches observe The Lord’s Supper every 5th Sunday … once a quarter … once a month … every Sunday. Here at Priscilla Baptist Church, we don’t observe The Lord’s Supper on any regular schedule … USUALLY … at Easter, Christmas, before Revival Services begin.

Our Revival Services begin this coming Sunday in the Morning Worship Service. As I mentioned last Sunday morning, we need to PREPARE our hearts to receive the blessings that God has in store for us next week. The Lord’s Supper is a way to prepare our hearts.

God wants to bring about a CHANGE in you this week.

Our lives are full of CHANGE. Since I first came to Priscilla in 1994 I have seen lots of CHANGES. I have seen some of our children grow up … even seen some of them grow up and get married. I’ve seen Christians grow and become stronger in their faith. I’ve seen some people graduate into eternity. I’ve seen some who were lost in sin, come to know Jesus as their Savior.

Yes, there have been some CHANGES since I came to Priscilla. The truth of the matter is, EVERYONE has CHANGED … nobody stagnates … everybody CHANGES. SOMETIMES, the CHANGE is not for the best … but usually it’s a GOOD change.

We have a tendency to RESIST change. SOMETIMES, CHANGE causes anxiety, stress, tension … the fear of the unknown … apprehension. Life is constantly CHANGING … BUT … sometimes it’s HARD to CHANGE.

God wants you to CHANGE … to be more like Him. I trust that your life has CHANGED each year that you have been saved. Someone once said, that, since they were saved, “I don’t cuss, I don’t chew, and I don’t run around with women who do.” That’s like the one man who was being bothered in a restaurant by someone blowing smoke on him. He responded: “If you can smoke, then I can chew. You can blow your smoke on me, and I can spit on you!”

The Devil doesn’t want you to change. BUT … God is in the life-changing business. Philip. 1:6 – “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath BEGUN a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” God is still working on you … and me. He’s not finished with us yet … not until we go home to be with Him in glory.

You are God’s PROJECT that He’s constantly working on. Ephes. 2:10 – “For we are his WORKMANSHIP, created in Christ Jesus …” Jesus will never give up on you. He’ll never walk away from you & say: “This project is too hard … he’s too stubborn … she’ll never change … he’s too much work.” God has never met His match. You can’t frustrate God when He’s working on His project … YOU!

The Devil doesn’t want you to CHANGE. He likes it when we aren’t growing in the faith. He makes it EASY for us to be lazy Christians, and put Christ way down on our list of priorities.

God wants to get us out of our “comfort zone”. We get COMFORTABLE when we’re “lukewarm”. Jesus said - Rev. 3:15-16 – “I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. [16] So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.”

I like my tea, either HOT, or COLD … NOT “lukewarm”. I like my French fries HOT… and my milk shakes COLD … NOT “lukewarm”.

We get into a “comfort zone”, and we don’t want to CHANGE. That’s when we need a REVIVAL!

What does God want you to CHANGE in your life next week? I don’t know … I can’t answer that … only you can. AND … I’m sure you know what CHANGES need to be made. The Holy Spirit is probably bringing some things to your mind right now … something that needs changing in you heart & life. Only YOU can take that spiritual inventory … I can’t do it for you.

The Devil likes you just the way you are … as long as you don’t CHANGE, and move any closer to the Lord. Are there some CHANGES that GOD would like to see in your life?
