A Reviving Encounter

Isaiah 6:1-8

I. An Encounter with God’s Mighty Presence (v. 1-4)

a. The first part of our worship should be a holy encounter (John 4:23-24)

b. Worries of life fade when we encounter God’s holiness (v. 1-3)

c. An encounter with God will “shake” you (v. 4)

II. An Encounter with Self (v. 5-6)

a. We spend most of our time focusing on others’ faults (Isaiah 5:8-30)

b. We must measure ourselves against God’s righteousness (v. 5; Isaiah 64:6)

c. An humble confession of sin will bring cleansing to our lives (v. 6-7; Psalm 34:18)

III. An Encounter with God’s Call (v. 8)

a. God wants to know who He can count on (v. 8a; Matthew 9:36-38)

b. We must answer the call with great zeal (v. 8b)

38"Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest."
