Summary: It seems today that everything is being shaken, but that is not always a bad thing. There are some great things coming out of the shaking.

24And the woman bare a son, and called his name Samson: and the child grew, and the LORD blessed him.

25And the Spirit of the LORD began to move him at times in the camp of Dan between Zorah and Eshtaol.

Judg 13:25 (TLB)

25And the Spirit of the Lord began to excite him whenever he visited the parade grounds of the army of the tribe of Dan, located between the cities of Zorah and Eshtaol.

Dan = "a judge"

When Sampson would come into the camp of Dan Located between these two cities, the Spirit of the Lord would come upon him, (TLB) says began to excite him, (NIV) says begin to stir him, (KJV)says began to move him at times

If You are truly a Christian and Gods Spirit dwells in you, there should be some excitement, every now and then, some stirring, some moving.

Destiny was stirring in Sampsons bosom: There is something inside of every sincere devoted christian, that points you toward your destiny, it’s the Spirit of God (he will show you things to come)

There is something about Sampson and The release or manifestation of God’s power in his life that we do not learn until latter in his life: ( There was a cooperative effort between he and God,) It seems that before the spirit of God would take hold, he would shake himself

Judg 16:20

20And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him.

This shaking said: I’m ready to go to work, I’m ready for something to happen, It was symbolically shaking off the dust, and the weariness of everyday struggles

Isa 52:2

2Shake thyself from the dust; arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.

5287 na` ar (naw-ar’); shake (off, outself,), overthrow, toss up and down.

through the idea of the rustling of mane, which usually accompanies the lion’s roar];

God told David

2 Sam 5:24

24And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then shall the LORD go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines.

KJV-- bestirself, decide, decree, determine, to move, to be decisive, 2) to sharpen

a primitive root; properly, to point sharply, i.e. (literally) to wound; figuratively, to be alert, to decide:

(Shake yourself, pinch yourself, do whatever it takes to bring yourself to full attention)

Sampson had went to sleep: I.E. his spiritual sensitivity was at an all time low, What at one time would have alarmed him and produced a violence in him, now lulled him to sleep, (Sound like the church?

(Sampson the philistines be upon thee) he awoke what a sad condition he found himself in (He wist not that the Spirit of the Lord had departed from him)

He shook himself as at other times, but to no avail. The saddest thing to witness is someone going through the motions of religion with no inward life, (convinced that because they know the steps, They have the power)

The point I’m making is that shaking is a vital part of the releasing and the manifestation of the POWER OF GOD.

Ezek 37:7

7So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.

There’s something about a good shaking that brings things into proper prospective,

Heb 12:27 Tells us everything that can be shaken will be (shaken ) and only that which cannot be shaken will remain

Acts 4:31

31And when they had prayed, the place was (shaken) where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

Shaken: 4531 saleuo-

from 4535; to waver, i.e. agitate, rock, topple or (by implication figuratively, to disturb, incite:

move, shake (together), which can [-not] be shaken, stir up.

1) a motion produced by winds, storms, waves, etc.

a) to agitate or to shake

a) to cast down from one’s (secure and happy) state

b) to move, to agitate the mind, to disturb one

c) to shake thoroughly, used of a measure filled by shaking its contents together

In John chapter 5 It was when the water was troubled, or stirred or agitated that healing was present.

I Believe I hear the rustling in the mulberry trees, I believe I hear the brustling of the lions mane,

I Believe I hear a Noise, It seems that noise and shaking go together,
