A Worker’s Good Testimony

Colossians 3:22-25

I. Be Obedient to the Boss (v. 22)

a. Obey them whole-heartedly like you would obey Jesus (Ephesians 6:5-6)

b. This respects the Lord

II. Work as if the Job is for Jesus (v. 23-24)

a. Labor at 100% as Jesus would require (Ephesians 6:7)

b. God will reward your work (Ephesians 6:8)

III. A Guaranteed Penalty for Deficiency (v. 25)

a. Wrong-doing receives punishment (Number 32:23b)

b. No favoritism will be found (Deuteronomy 10:17)


Ephesians 6:5-8—5Slaves, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in the sincerity of your heart, as to Christ; 6not by way of eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart. 7With good will render service, as to the Lord, and not to men, 8knowing that whatever good thing each one does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether slave or free.

Deuteronomy 10:17—17"For the LORD your God is the God of gods and the Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God who does not show partiality nor take a bribe.
