I. We all want to be successful in life.

A. Success not found in riches.

B. Success not found in fame.

C. Success not found in power.

D. Success only found in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 3:20 "To Him who is able to do immeasurable more than all we can ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations foreve and ever Amen."

II. Success is found in Attitude.

A. Things happen to us in life, our attitude

determines how we will respond.

B. An American businessman visiting Hong Kong was

walking through the downtown streets looking

at all the different little shops, when he

came across a tatoo shop. He began looking at

the different tatoos and noticed one that

read "Born To Lose." He asked the store

owner "Does anyone really ever buy that

tatoo?" The store owner replied, "Yes,

sometimes, but before tatoo on skin, tatoo on

C. Too many people have a loser attitude that

shows up in how they live their lives.

D. In survey after survey employers report that

when choosing between two equally qualified

candidates, the most important factor is

attitude. In fact employers said they would

hire someone was a little less qualified if

they had a great attitude.

E. Philippians 2:5 "Have the attitude of Christ."

III. Success is found in Belief.

A. We must believe that Jesus is Lord.

We must believe that God will do what he says

he will do.

B. In 1519 a man sat in Spain listening to

stories of great Aztec treasure in South

America that was could not be taken by

anyone. Cortez thought he could take it. So

he set sail with an army of boats. They

anchored in South America and unloaded the

boats. As they unloaded them Cortez walked up

and down the beach shore telling them "We will

take this treasure!" The night before the

attack Cortez instructed his men "Burn the

boats!" His men stared at him in

disbelief. "We will sail home in their

boats." So they stood on the shore and

watched their boats burn. Then the next day

they marched into the jungle believing in

their mission. They took the treasure and

went home in the Aztec boats.

C. Belief and faith in God causes men to do great

1. David takes on Goliath.

2. Daniel goes in the lions den.

3. Joshua marches around Jericho.

4. Jesus dies on the cross.

IV. Success comes from commitment.

A. We must be committed to Christ.

B. Jesus challenged us to take up our cross.

C. Athletes change teams, marriages end,

companies short their employees, families

betray one another. Commitment is in short

supply today. But praise God that Jesus

remains totally committed to you and I.

He challenges us to do the same for Him.

Those are the ABC’s of successful living.
