Summary: The Power of the Holy Spirit is needed in ALL believers. You wouldn’t want to go into a fight without a weapon, would you?

‘An Upper Room Experience!’

Acts 1:13 And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room . . ..

14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication.

AND WHEN . .AND WHEN . .AND WHEN . .AND WHEN!

(with increased excitement and vigor!)

And When They Were Come In, they went up into an upper room.

Hmmmmm. . . .

These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication.

Hmmmmm. . . .

Today, I’m looking for an upper room experience!!!

Does anyone know what happened when the disciples, and the other 108 people finally, yes, finally, came together, got on the same page, cut out the bickering for a while, focused on, pressed in, surrendered to, gave way, allowed, and obeyed? Hmmm? Tell me!

Fifty days after Passover, Pentecost. That’s What the word means.

Fifty days after Passover. Fifty days after the feast of passover, they were in Jerusalem, waiting, as Luke 24:49 speaks of:

This is Jesus speaking:

Luke 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high. (KJV)

Tarry ye ~ Remain there. Stay Put!

Tarry ye until ye be endued, what is endued?

Greek: enduo, put on, be clothed with, be clothed in, and be arrayed in,

Anyone clothed with this power is able to receive confirmation on what they testify, or preach!

The Word Power in Greek is dunamis: inherent power; the power of reproducing itself: It is the fulfillment of the promised Holy Ghost, which gives power to do the works of Christ, in a Baptismal measure.

In other words, when you are endued with power, you will be confirmed of what you are testifying to, and you will be able to replicate yourself in others. Discipling others!

Back to Pentecost. Fifty days after Passover.

Ø There will always be a Passover before the Holy Ghost enters in.

Ø There will always be a death.

Ø The original Passover required a sacrificial lamb.

Ø Christ became the sacrificial Lamb in the new and improved Passover!

Ø Your flesh must also be sacrificed before you can experience a Passover in your own life.

‘Say this with me. “There has to be a Passover!”’

You’ve got to say, Move over flesh,

there’s something better! (The Holy Ghost)

die, Will, die. I’ve got to be endued.

This dude’s got to get endued!

Tell 3 people ~ “I’m gonna be endued!”

Christ came that we may have life, and life MORE ABUNDANTLY!

MORE ABUNDANTLY comes with the infilling, or enduing of the Holy Spirit, and with Fire!

Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. (KJV)

After He told them to wait in Jerusalem, He told them why.

They’re going to receive power. Not just power, but POWER!

How exactly was this POWER going to be given?

What would you think? I dunno.

Acts 2:1-4 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. (KJV)

So they did what He said, and on the day of Pentecost, all of a sudden, from out of no where, whhhhhhhhhhshhhhhhshhhhhhhwhhhhh! Listen, can you hear that?

What is it? Whhoooshhowoooshhoooosoo!

Wow, I’m getting tingly all over! Man! We better pray! Maybe the world is coming to an end! Pray! Everyone! Pray!

What’s happening to my mouth! What am I saying?

What did you say?

Huh?

What is this powerful wind?

2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. (KJV)

This wind was a SUDDEN WIND! Someone shout Suddenly!

Out of nowhere, but from everywhere, the Holy Ghost filled that place and filled it SUDDENLY!

ü What we need here in this church is a suddenly!

ü We need a suddenly today!

ü We need a suddenly right now!
