Summary: You can contend for the faith once delivered to the saints without being contentious.

1Tim 3:1 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.

2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, NOT A BRAWLER, not covetous;

4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;

5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.

7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

Strong's Concordance

Not being peaceable or a brawler is not a good mode for a pastor. Having come from a group of brawling pastors and infected by that attitude for a long time I know that a point can be made and a complaint properly expressed without rancor and in a calm voice.

Brawling may get you many views, but the views may not be positive and such activity conveys a wrong perspective of Christ whose most vivid arguments and descriptive language were reserved for the ecclesiastical hierarchy not the general populace or the government or even taxes.

Having spent twenty plus years in the military and some years as a Civil Servant, I have had to comply with many regulations that I did not agree with and tried to get changed. I seem to have come away unscathed and I still have my rights.

If the Fed tried nothing and deaths soared to over a million, we would be storming our respective capitols and DC like the last scene of a Frankenstein movie. They have tried to do something and it may be an overkill and even useless, but it is not the mark of the Beast or taking away our rights or whatever some conspiracy people dream up. Indeed, I will not vote for someone who is running over that issue.

Go to a place that is not making it mandatory to get what you want. Do not harass the employees or the manager. They want to keep their jobs. They may even agree with you. Write their corporate office and complain. Comply with the rules or go elsewhere without making a scene. It profits no one as there is no one in authority in that store to change policies. Indeed, it can be a form of verbal terrorism especially when threatening and that is definitely not good.

Proverbs 15:1 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

In other words, don't be a brawler or stir up unnecessary wrath. Be calm and mature. Some of us may need less coffee and sugar in our day. There are far worse issues and enough stress in our days so try to maintain some dignity and propriety as we are all in the same boat trying to get past this. As they said in my youth, "Peace and love, Bro." Shalom!
