Summary: Praises for the Attributes of God from Affectionate to the Bread of Life

15. Affectionate – I praise you Lord for being so tender, kind and loving. “If there is an encouragement in Christ, any affection and love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love.” (Phil. 2:1,2)

16. Almighty – Lord, I praise you for being the King and Almighty God. Thank you for what Moses wrote, “Because of your father’s God, who helps you because of the Almighty, who blesses you with blessings of the heavens above, blessings of the deep that lies below.” (Gen 49:25) Thank you for the reminder from Job, “Does God pervert justice? Does the Almighty pervert what is right? (Job 8:5) Thank you that “The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives life.” (Job 33:4)

17. Alpha and Omega – Lord, I praise you for being the beginning and the end despite how my perceptions distort truth. Thank you that you said, “I am the Alpha and Omega, says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” (Rev. 1:8)

18. Amazing God – I praise you Lord for causing people to be so filled with wonder at your greatness and love. “Let all the earth fear the Lord, let all the people of the world revere Him. For He spoke and it came to be; He commanded and it stood firm. The Lord foils the plans of the nations; He thwarts the purposes of the peoples. But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of His heart through all generations.” (Psa. 33:8-11)

19. Amen – I praise you Lord for being the “So be it” to every situation. “To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation.” (Rev. 3:14)

20. Ancient of Days – Everlasting Father – I praise you Lord that as the Ancient of Days (Dan 7:9), the Everlasting Father who lives forever and ever, the prince of Peace.” (Isa. 9:6) Thank you that you are the same yesterday, today and forever so I do not have to live with insecurity.

21. Anger – I praise you Lord for your righteous wrath against all that is not in accordance with your will. “Since we have been justified by His blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through Him.” (Rom. 5:9)

22. Anointed One – I praise you Lord for being the One who is especially endowed with the Spirit’s oil of blessing. “The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the Lord and against His anointed one. Indeed Herod and Pontius Pilate met together with the Gentiles and the people of Israel in this city to conspire against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed.” (Acts 4:26,27)

23. Anointer – I praise you Lord for knowing how to apply the oil of your Holy Spirit’s healing, gladness and refreshment when it is needed. John wrote, “You have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth.” (I John 2:20)

24. Answer In Our Distress – I praise and thank you Lord for being able to answer us when we call to you out of our distress. David wrote, “May the Lord answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.” (Psa. 20:1)

25. Apostle – I praise you Lord for being the sent forth messenger of truth. “Therefore, holy brothers, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess.” (Heb. 3:1

26. Appointer – I praise you Lord for you know whom to appoint as the best leaders for every job. “Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which He bought with His own blood.” (Acts 20:28)

27. Architect – I praise you Lord for being my Master designer and supervisor of all spiritual construction. “For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.” (Heb. 11:10) Thank you for assuring me that you are building me more into the image of Christ in my thinking, attitudes and behavior.

28. Arm of the Lord – I praise you Lord for being the strong arm of God’s power and purpose as an extension of Him. “Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire Him.” (Isa. 53:1,2)
