Awake From Idolatry

Summary: God is calling His children to give up the sin of Idol worship in their lives.
God wants to awake us from our sleep
The reason why God establish the Church is to put divine order in the world.
The world is in chaos because the church has gone to sleep.
God is calling us to subdue.
We cannot look up to the government for change and order.
If the government can make the world a better place, Jesus wouldn’t have come.
The responsibility of global transformation belongs to the church.
Idolatry is the worship of other gods apart from Jehovah God.
Every other god is idol.
Your heart is your sanctuary which is your place of worship.
God is a Jealous God. What we love will determine our affection and worship.
Anything we are addicted to is an act of idol worship.
Whatever takes away God’s time in our life becomes an idol.
Why God hates Idolatry:
Idolatry is the first commandment.
It is the mother of every other sin.
Types of idols Christians worship:
1. Idol of self ( personal achievements, pride, ambitious, abortion, rape, fashion, lying)
2. Idol of entertainment (movies, comedy, sports etc)
3. Idol of immorality (homosexuality, adultery, prostitution, seduction
4. Idol of silver and gold (greed, covetousness, stealing)
When you worship idol you are destroying your prophecy.
Idol worship drives away God’s presence.
We experience failure and defeat in life all because of idol worship.
