Awesome At Work

“Being Godly Workman”

 How are Christians to act and react in the workplace?

 Does God really even care about what kind of workman I am?

 Is what I do at work really that important to Jesus?

God designed us to be awesome at our work.

4 REASONS TO BE AWESOME AT WORK.

1.) We represent God and the Kingdom of God.

1 Pet 2:18-23

Matt 5:16 "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Prov 10:26 As vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes, so is the lazy man to those who send him.

1Thes 4:11-12

11 that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you,

12 that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing.

1 Cor 6:20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

1Thes 2:12 that you would walk worthy of God who calls you into His own kingdom and glory.

2.) We are called to be excellent workers.

Prov 6:6-11

2 Chr 31:20-21

Prov 22:29 Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before unknown men.

Rom 12:11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; (not slothful in business – KJV)

3.) God directs blessings through our work.

Gen 39

Ps 1:1-3

Prov 13:4 The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing; but the soul of the diligent shall be made rich.

4.) We are working for God, not for man.

Eph 6:5-8

Col 3:17-25

Prov 3:6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

1 Cor 10:31 Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

 We have such opportunity available to us.

 Jesus wants to go to work with us!

 He wants to be involved in our work.

 He wants to prosper the work of our hands.

 He wants to bring glory to His name through us.
