BABY IN A MANGER
VII. EXPLICATION:
A. Author: Luke, the beloved physician, close friend and trusted companion of Paul.
B. Audience: Theophilus, identity is unknown
C. Purpose: To give connected and orderly narratives of CHRIST's life, as seen by eye witnesses.
D. Key Text: Luke 1:4 I did this so that you can be sure that what you have been taught is true.
E. Date and Time of Writing: between 59 to 62 CE (Church Era)
VIII. MAIN BODY:
A. Signs will be given.
1. Star of Jacob (Numbers 24:17)
"I see him coming, but not now. I see him coming, but not soon. A star will come from the family of Jacob. A new ruler will come from the Israelites. He will smash the heads of the Moabites and crush the heads of all the sons of Sheth.
2. Will come from Bethlehem (Micah 5:2)
But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, are the smallest town in Judah. Your family is almost too small to count, but the "Ruler of Israel" will come from you to rule for me. His beginnings are from ancient times, from long, long ago.
B. Baby in a manger:
1. CHRIST's humility (2 Corinthians 8:9)
You know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. You know that he gave up his heavenly riches for you. He gave up everything so that you could be richly blessed.
IX. CONCLUSION:
Yes, God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him would not be lost but have eternal life.
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in and eat with you. And you will eat with me.
This CHRISTmas make it CHRIST's, open the doors of your heart to Him and accept Him as your Lord, Master and Personal Savior
