Bargain Hunting? What Will You Give?

Summary: What will you give? Is this a bargain? What do we think off when we think about 30 pieces of silver? Think of the selling prices of people in the Bible?
BARGAIN HUNTING? WHAT WILL YOU GIVE ME? HOW MUCH?

Deal? SEEMS WE ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR A BARGAIN… Recently I was in a store, they had luggage for $99.99 and no one was buying it. A few weeks later I saw they had the luggage marked $219.99, marked 50% off. Today and this day only you can purchase this luggage for $110.00. Did I mention it was 50% off? People were getting a real bargain… $110. A few days before you could buy it for $99.99? Call it a sale, a real bargain?
DEAL? BARGAIN? LOOKS GOOD TO ME? LOOKS GOOD TO MY EYES? WHAT A BARGAIN… deal? DEAL?
EVE SOLD OUT FOR DISOBEDIENCE AND EATING THE FORBIDDEN FRUIT. Bargain?
Genesis 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
The bargain was fear, sweat of the brow, pain in child bearing, the curse?
Genesis 3:10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
Deal? CAIN KILLS HIS BROTHER ABEL. ABEL’S OFFERING WAS RECEIVED, NOT CAIN’S… THIS BARGAIN IS TERRIBLE.
Genesis 4:13 (KJV) And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment is greater than I can bear.
THIS WAS NO BARGAIN… THE COST IS GREATER THAN I CAN BEAR…
DEAL? SEEMS WE ALL DEMAND BARGAINS? GIVE ME? WASTED --- WASTED HIS SUBSTANCE
Luke 15:12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living. 13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
WHAT KIND OF BARGAIN DID YOU MAKE SON? Dirty, with the pigs? Eating pig food?
LET’S MAKE A DEAL? BARGAIN, WHAT IS THE PRICE OF A TEMPER FIT?
Numbers 20:8 Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.
God gave Moses clear directions. Moses was hurt, bitter and angry… YOU, REBELS…
Numbers 20:9 And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him. 10 And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock? 11 And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.
Moses you get a high price ticket, you will not get to go into the promise land at this time…
Numbers 20: 12 And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.
DEAL? BIG DEAL? WHAT A BARGAIN? GIVE ME? FRATERNAL TWINS, JACOB AND ESAU… ESAU NEVER VALUED HIS INHERITANCE AS HE SHOULD… HE GAVE AWAY MILLIONS FOR A $2.00 BOWL OF SOUP?
WANT TO TALK ABOUT A BARGAIN? I AM STARVING TO DEATH?
Genesis 25:29 And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint: 30 And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.
31 And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright. 32 And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me? 33 And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob. 34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.
Birthright has to do with POSITION and INHERITANCE…
Hebrews 12:17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.
A FAMILY DEAL? A DYSFUNTIONAL FAMILY WITH NO COMMUNICATION LINES….10 BROTHERS WERE JEALOUS AND HATED THEIR BROTHER… LOOKING FOR A BARGAIN?
Genesis 37:4 And when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto him.
