Be Not Wise In Your Own Eyes!

Do not deviate!

Psalm 81:11 "But my people did not listen to my voice; Israel would not submit to me. 12 So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts, to follow their own counsels.”

Pretty scary to read that God would give up on us! The Lord says: ‘I gave them over to their stubborn hearts!’ Just after preaching the message in the evening service, I met a sister who came for prayer, she said her son would say, ’I don’t need pastors since I have a direct connection with God!’ This is what you call as stubborn hearts who refuse to be corrected and instructed! ‘Don’t interfere with me, who are you, I don’t need church, I know what to do, stay away, I am capable…..’ are some of the phrases that we hear often today! Let me tell you, such wickedness would take you down the path of a horrible pit. Caveat! Obey and be blessed!

Be it marriage, business, job, oversees travel or assignments; whatsoever,” do not lean unto your own understanding and be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil.”(Proverbs 3:5,7) Did you hear me? Humbly check out with God as to what He has planned for you! You may not have a clear idea of the journey but trust Him to take you through! I never knew what God had for me in Hyderabad when we moved to this new city six years back, we just obeyed as a family and carted our young children along with us! The train journey from Chennai to Hyderabad was eerie and arduous because I was traveling alone with my maid and son since we had to settle many things in Chennai and we did not have enough money for it! Uncertainty hovered over our head; yet, we moved forward through the ‘Light’ of God’s Word and His promises! Amen. A marriage team of noisy crowd traveled in the compartment that we were in and made our night journey miserable; however, God never left our side! Everything did not happen hastily and quickly but God unfolded His plans for our life very gradually. Today, after six years, God helped us to plant ‘Shiloh Revival Church, Abide School, besides this our TV Ministry was launched this year, our yearly ‘Soldiers for Christ camp was launched out from this city and much more. ‘

Follow His rules and commandments meticulously so that you do not forfeit the blessings promised by God! Stick on to Him and His ways! Stay away from the ‘me and my life’ crowd, it is not about you but it is all about God in you. Are you listening?

When things don’t go right, you tend to swing the pendulum the other way, all the yo-yoing does not last long, immeasurable happiness and joy in the Lord, do not come from ‘sporadic’ prayer life - running to God only during time of emergencies - but being consistent, committed and loyal in your walk with God will go a long way.
