READ LUKE 22:39-46 HERE
Jesus went out as usual to the Mount of Olives, and his disciples followed him. 40On reaching the place, he said to them, “Pray that you will not fall into temptation.” 41He withdrew about a stone’s throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed, 42“Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” 43An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him. 44And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.
45When he rose from prayer and went back to the disciples, he found them asleep, exhausted from sorrow. 46“Why are you sleeping?” he asked them. “Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.”

• Word of instruction to the disciples: Pray that you will not fall into temptation.”
• Submit to god saying: “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”
Out of submission comes strength.
We lack power because we:
• sleep when we ought to pray.
• We pray for OUR WILL rather than God’s.

Ephesians 3:14 -20 says, For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

1. BOW OUR KNEES before God acknowledging God’s glory.
2. Strengthened with might through the spirit in the inner man.
3. Being rooted and Grounded in Love ~ to know how wide, long, deep and high is the love of Christ.
C. When we know the love of God, we then can do MATTHEW 22:37 – 40, saying, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39
