Summary: This is about getting the rights things done first.

Big Things

A professor took a jar and carefully place some large rocks in it. When he had put all the rocks that he could he asked the class is the jar full. most said yes. Then he took out some small rocks and begin to put them in the Jar. Again he ask is the jar full. What do you think?

Next he took sand and filled the jar up. Is it full now he asked. Then he poured water into the jar. Now it is full!!!

What is the lesson here?

We all have 24 hrs in a day and 365 days in a year. There is 60 seconds in one minute and 60 minutes in an hour or 3600 seconds in one hour, and

We only so much time. The Jar is like time in our life. We must put big things in first or there will not be any room for them. The small things will fill up our time regardless of what we do.

eating, sleeping, working, playing ect will fill up our days, our years till time for us is gone. water and sand,

Important things must come first if they are to be in our live... we must make room for them...!!

Mt 6:31-33

Ex 9:5 And the LORD appointed a set time, saying, To morrow the LORD shall do this thing in the land.

Ex 23:15 Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty:) Ex 34:18 ¶ The feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep. Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, as I commanded thee, in the time

God has appointed a time for us to remember him.

Ac 20:7 ¶ And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

1Co 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

1Co 11:23-16 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: 24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.

Heb. 10:25

Is this a big rock that is in your life?

The largest rock of all where God is concerned. The Gospel

2Th 1:8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

Have you obeyed the gospel. HOW?

1Co 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

How do you obey this?

Rom. 6:3-4 & 17 Acts 22:8-16

1 Peter 3:21

This is the largest rock that you could have in your jar.

Mt 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

More important that job, family, fishing, hunting, going to the boat, friends, anything.

What are you giving in exchange for your soul? What ever it is it is not worth it.

The next big rock is family... 1Ti 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

In paticular wife or husband, then childdren.

Eph 5:33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
