Summary: When children are young they asked the question, “Why?” They are inquisitive, they want to learn! When we get older we still ask the question, “Why?” Because we want to understand, we want to know why things happen.

Verse 22-23-Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things you have seen and heard: that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the gospel preached to them.

And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.”

When children are young they asked the question, “Why?”

They are inquisitive, they want to learn!

When we get older we still ask the question, “Why?”

Because we want to understand, we want to know why things happen.

Why some people who are good people, who are hard working, honest people are dying or have died and then there are those people out there who are evil, who put themselves and what the want above anyone else and they go on living day after day after day!

There are people out there that wouldn’t hurt anybody intentional, and yet their body is racked with pain from a disease or illness, or what has been afflicted to their body from someone else’s anger and then on the other hand you have these people who live health lives and they don’t care who they hurt, matter a fact it brings them great joy to inflict as much pain and suffering on other people as they can, matter of fact they leave a string of victims they have hurt or harmed…They lay a night and dream about, fantasies about, how they can do more harm, more devastation and yet their life seems to go untouched by all the harm they have done to others.

And sometimes you have to cry out to God, “Why!”

We have children in this world who are neglected, verbally abused, sexually abused, physically abused, even killed by the people who are suppose to love them the most!

You can’t help but asked the question “Why?”

In the land that we live in there is hatred, violence, rudeness, selfishness… (As the Bible describes it) lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power.

Simple put a Moral Decay that runs rapid over all the country…From the White House, to the Court House, to the School House, and if we are not careful to Our House!

Once again, we cry out, “Why?”

“Why are we like this?”

“Why, won’t God stop all of this?”

“Why, does God allow this?”

If you think I or anybody else has the answer to all these question, the truth is we don’t!

But I feel real comfort in verse 23-And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.”

Jesus is saying, “Blessed is the person who doesn’t get upset in how I run things!”

Blessed is the person who don’t get upset with God when things don’t make sense!

Blessed is the person who understands that He is the potter and we are the clay!

There is a movement today, that is trying to mold God into what we want Him to be, instead of us being molded into what He wants us to be!

I do not understand everything that happens in this world, but I do understand this much, that God loves us, and not only us, but the world also, and that He would not have gone to all the trouble of sending His Son to die on a cross for our sins, just to abandoned us in our times of need…I know He has plan and purpose for each and every life!

Vance Havner-“I don’t know how a brown cow can eat green grass and give white milk, but that doesn’t stop me from eating ice cream!”

“I don’t understand electricity but I am not going to sit in the dark till I do!”

Just because I don’t understand everything, doesn’t mean I am not going to the cling to the one thing I do know….Jesus, loves me this I know!!!
