Blind Bartimaeus

by

Dr. Gale Ragan-Reid (July 23, 2019)

“And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me. And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me. And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.

And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.

And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.” (Mark 10:46-52, King James Version, KJV)

Greetings In The Holy Name Of Jesus (Yahshuah),

My brothers and sisters, I tell you I feel like I can reach out and touch someone, tonight. The Spirit is willing and able. It was not too long ago I found myself in a blind Bartimaeus experience, crying out down to the depths of my soul, for all seemed lost and my efforts futile and subjected to my own wishful thinking. All my hope was not gone but names such as Joe and Josh just came forth. I do not know who Joe and Josh might be crying out to but God is here, as we hear the words, nearer my God to thee.

[I found myself, in need of strength, to design and remodel the family farm estate, to sustainability. This project excelled in scope and size beyond any other projects and efforts that I committed to in my lifetime.]

GOD hears the tormented cries of mankind mounted up on the wings of eagles crying in the darkness, nearer my God to thee. I tell you Blond Bartimaeus did not care what anyone thought of him, a beggar crying out to his Lord and Savior, Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me. How many of you can feel some of what Blind Bartimaeus felt that day when he cried out to Jesus? Did you feel the hunger pains down in the pit of your belly when your stomach growled to let everyone know you were hungry?Yes, the life you live is so filled with the glory of God that your stomach cries out when hungry even though you might try to hide your hunger from all those folks around you who appear to have full stomachs.

Your life is so spiritually connected to God that the Holy Ghost Spirit prays for you when you cannot utter a prayer. Yes, I tell you, my brothers and sisters I feel like I can reach out and touch someone tonight! Let the Spirit of God, the Son of man lead you to everlasting joy and peace, Blind Bartimaeus did not act like a puffed-up man of high status who fell on hard times, he was who he was, so Jesus did not tell him who he was as he told the woman of Samaria-the woman at the well. Jesus healed him, that day Jesus answered his cry, for mercy. Lord have mercy on me!

Blind Bartimaeus believed Jesus could heal him and Jesus healed him because of his faith made him whole. Blind Bartimaeus did not leave and cried out until Jesus called him and asked him what did he want him to do for him. He asked Jesus for his sight and Jesus gave him his sight, that day, immediately-for his faith made him whole. I tell you Blind Bartimaeus reached out by crying out and kept crying until Jesus touched him in words and called him, so my friends, he did not leave blind, for Jesus gave him his sight because his faith made him whole-Jesus called him and asked him what do you want me to do? Yes, Lord, yes! I believe, my faith made me whole. just say the word and I shall be healed.

We pray, God is a great God. His mercy endures forever. [“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.” Psalm 23:6, KJV]. I thank you, LORD GOD for Lord Jesus! God bless. Amen.

That’s the way we say prayer in this neck of the woods. It is raining! It is a sun shower. The rain is not coming in the farmhouse. I feel wonderfully blessed that rain is not coming in the farmhouse.
