Burden Check

Summary: One of the greatest attributes God wants to develop in our hearts is His burden for the lost.
BURDEN CHECK
Let me try to share with you God’s burden for the lost in a few scriptures.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son
Isa 53:3
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows,
Isa 53:5
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him;
(and HE was beaten with strips)
Isa 50:6
6 I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.
Ps 129:3
3 The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows.
19:1 Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.
2 And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head,
25 And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.
Why oh why did God allow that to happen?
Sin had to be dealt with.
This was God’s attempt to save the lost and to keep them out of hell.
Do we have a burden? What are we doing to reach the lost to keep them out of hell?
I believe our yearly report on conversions was much lower than it should have been.
I’m not placing any blame, but are we all guilty?
Do we need to check the status of our burden for the lost?
Rom 10:1
10:1 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
Rom 9:3
3 For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:
13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

We need to check our burden.
There’s three kinds of people:
1. Those given to evil (involved in every kind of sin).
2. Another is the multitude, halting between two decisions. One is, whether to give there lives to Christ or not, and the other who choose not to received Christ because they just can’t accept the fact that God requires a holy and separated life from the world. That is, secularism, and the pleasures of immorality. Immorality, being that which is outside God’s code of moral conduct, which He has laid down in His Word.
3. Those committed to holy living, with a passion to share God’s burden for lost souls.
I believe when we were born again God took our old nature away and gave us His.
He gave us His:
Love to dispense Power to dispense
Compassion to dispense His burden for lost humanity
Let me ask you a question. It’s true that pastors, evangelist, and missionaries have a burden for the lost, but is that burden a different burden than what you and your neighbor beside you should possess. I don’t think so. How could we differentiate? The burden in you and I both should be to keep people out of hell.

34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

We are so careful how we talk to people about Jesus to try to save them.
We wouldn’t be so careful if they were in a burning house to tell them, or any other life threatening situation.
See people as God sees them. Be bold. Be the instrument God uses to reach them.
