Summary: As children of God we are to be conformed to the image of Christ.
#1) As children of God we are to be conformed to the image of Christ.
It’s not a physical image but a moral and spiritual image.
God has given to us the character of His son Jesus.
The works of the flesh are evident. Paul spelled it out very clearly; immorality, impurity, indecency, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealosy, anger, selfishness, divisions, heresies, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and everything that is alike.
These two groups are the exact opposite of each other. eather you walk in the flesh which is the image of the world or you walk in the spirit which is the image of Christ. "Those He forknew, He also destined from the beginning to be molded into the image of His son" ( God put His Holy Spirit inside of you so that you would be like His son).
#2) Your past is not as important as your future. God will use all of the negative of your past to mold you into who He want’s you to be. "All things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose".
God is a partner in your life.
Everything that has happened in your pass is going to fit into His glorious plan.
Maybe before you were defeated. But now Jesus has given you victory!
Christ says that; "You are more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus who has called you out of darknes into His marvelous light"!
"Old things have past away and now they are made new"!
"You are blessed going in and coming out"!
If the enemy tries to remind you of your past don’t you worry about it because God allowed it so that he could mold you into the man or woman of God that you are today!!! Remind him that your destiny is eternity with the Lord and his is in the lake of fire in outer darkness!!!
#3) God equips you with what you need to fulfill your calling (LOOK AT)
Gifts from the Holy Spirit, 1 Cor. 12:4ff
Gifts to the church to grow you to maturity, Eph. 4:8ff
There is nothing in the world that can stop you from what that God has already lined up for your life.( Rom.8:38-39 )
