27And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

Have you ever thought about the word impossible? Webster defines it as follows: : incapable of being or of occurring : felt to be incapable of being done, attained, or fulfilled :

I know God is directing us tonight to some places in scripture where all looked impossible.

I believe tonight as a church and as individual Christians we must look past our own capabilities and move into the area of the supernatural power of God in our lives.

First let’s look at the individual. The word of God is full of the impossible.

Exodus 3:6-12 (King James Version)

6Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.

7And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;

8And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

9Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them.

10Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.

11And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?

12And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.

Notice this impossible task was God’s idea. God is still visiting upon people a call to the impossible. We sometimes kind of criticize Moses here but many times we are just as hesitant to follow the direction of the Holy Spirit in our lives today.

Yes, this task of leading nearly six million people out of Egypt was impossible for Moses alone but not with Moses with God. He would have to feed, water and clothe them in a wilderness. He would have to lead them through hostile territory and more than that he would have to convince them to follow him. Yes to Moses it looked impossible.

Jesus Christ is calling you and I to new heights and new accomplishments today and just like the children of Israel coming out of bondage it may not be easy. We get to often in the frame of mind that any thing God is in is going to go just as smooth as silk and if it don’t we give up. Well look at Noah, Moses and all the others and say that everything God had them do was easy. Anything or anytime we step into the impossible we will have opposition and many times it is severe. But in those times let us remember this in the Word of God. Romans 8:31-37 (King James Version)

31What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

32He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

33Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.

34Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
