Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun. - Psalm 37:5-6

Mankind is born with an inner desire to fend for itself. We can call it survival of the fittest, the sinful nature, there is always a pull towards putting one's self first and protecting oneself. As believers in Jesus Christ we are now freed to commit all our ways to him. We are simply servants now and he is the master. He actually created us and gives us every breath so he does know what is best for us! How foolish it can seem at times to try and do it our own way as christians and think we can solve our own problems apart from the Lord helping.

Sometimes the lower road is the way up. Our Lord said that the last will be first. Sometimes God's will for us is not to get out of all our problems but actually be misused and betrayed being able to have the love of Jesus and show his forgiveness to others while suffering. Whether it is keeping us safe from problems or preserving us in them we can commit our ways to the Lord and trust him. He will never let us down and will always give us a sense of his presence and assurance that he is working situations out for our good eternally. In the end he will make you shine like the sun and all men will see this and it will glorify God.
