Summary: COMPLETE CONFIDENCE IN GOD

COMPLETE CONFIDENCE IN GOD

ISAIAH 40;28-31

INTRODUCTION:

The word complete means:Having all necessary or normal parts, entire. whole, through, comsummate, perfect: complet control.

The word confidence means: A feeling of assurance; trust or reliance; a trusting relationship;

I am placing my confidence in you;COMPLETE CONFIDENCE IN GOD.

Have you felt or feel tempted now to consider yourselves forsaken by God? What brings on this type of temptation?

(1) we suffer: and God seems indifferent.

(2) The injustice of world effects;and God does not defend us.

(3) His promises or oracles look to be for others; not for us

(4) WE gaze into and study his words; they are illuminated to others: But their meaning does not open unto us.

These indeed can be and are dark moments. Everything seem to pass me by. The worst is that the weakness which is subjective, in ourselves, we are tempted to throw out of ourselves, and blame God. This is the mood the prophet Isaiah meets: His reply begins in verse 27 as he first questions Israel on their complaining.

In verse 28 he appeals to their intelligence. (read)

1-Look away from self:Look at others who have been down but are now reaping the goodness of God.

2-Look at the heavens and their "going on": The march of the seasons; the recurrence of seed-time and harvest; divert thy throughts from the little self-worth, to a greater picture and listen as well as look our intelligence and conscience combine to assure us that he is what he was and where he was. (God Exists)

He is an everlasting God: His name means constantly and faithfulness. His covenants are irreversible he is of the whole earth from end to end.

So Israel why are you feeling sorry for yourself why are you giving up? why are you in a despondent state? Why don’t you realize that almighty God is still in charge regardless of your ciecumstances,I know you are in exile in babylon but babylon is not beyond Gods empire, (palestine).

God has no human infirmities: He faints nor is weary, he works for his world both day and night, (121:36_4)

God has unfathomable intelligence: therefore there is a wise purpose, in your present position, regardless of how dark it may seem. (knowing this) Makes me have complete confidence in him(God)

Verse 29:

1-He is able to supply power, strength in weakness.

2-To those who don’t have no might he increases strength. SPIRITUAL STRENGTH CAN ONLY COME FROM GOD. hE GIVES STRENGTH AND POWER TO HIS PWOPLE, AND HEPLS THEM BY ENABLING THEM TO HELP THEMSELVES.

He will help the willing will help those who display humble dependence upon him. Those who trust to their own sufficiency and are so confident of it they neither exert themselves, nor seek God and his grace.

Verse 30:

are the youths and the young men who are strong but are being decieved into thinking they are stronger than they really are. they shall fail in their service in their conflicts, and under their burdens.

Verse 31:

But those that wait on the Lord: those who do what thus say the lord, those who by faith rely upon him,those who committ themselves to his guidance shall find that God will never fail them.

1-They shall have grace sufficient for them.

2-They shall renew their strength as their work is renewed.

3-They shall be awaited, their lamps supplied with fresh oil.

If they have been ambushed, knocked down, trapped, they shall recover themselves and renew their strength.

1-they shall have strength to labor

2-They shall have strength to wrestle, strength to resist, strength to bear under their burdens.

Being strengthen they shall do two things;

1-They shall soar upward upward towards God. they shall mount up with wings like eagles.

2-They shall press forward, heaven is their goal. they shall run, they shall walk. running and walking with God at God’s command, not geting weary, but cheerfully, constantly and with perseverance. (they shall not faint) therefore in due season they shall reap.

wait on God, don’t despair, relief is on the way.
