Summary: HOLD FAST WITH CONFIDENCE AND HOPE

CONFIDENCE AND HOPE

INTRODUCTION: HEBREWS 3:1 ADDRESSED CHRIST AS AN APOSTLE AND HIGH PRIEST. EVERY BELIEVER MUST PLACE CONFIDENCE AND HOPE IN CHRIST, YOUR APOSTLE AND HIGH PRIEST.

SPIRITUAL INSIGHT: HEBREWS 3:6 (NKJV) BUT CHRIST AS A SON OVER HIS OWN HOUSE, WHOSE HOUSE WE ARE IF WE HOLD FAST THE CONFIDENCE AND THE REJOICING OF THE HOPE FIRM TO THE END.

THE WORD CONFIDENCE MEANS, “FREE TO SPEAK, OR BE OPEN”. CONFIDENCE IS PARAMOUNT IN A BELIEVER’S WITNESS TO THE LOST EVEN IF IT FALLS ON DEAF EARS. PROVERBS 3: 26 (NKJV) THE LORD WILL BE YOUR CONFIDENCE, AND HE WILL KEEP YOUR FOOT FROM BEING CAUGHT. HOW WELL YOU SLEEP MIGHT BE AN INDICATOR OF HOW MUCH CONFIDENCE YOU HAVE IN THE LORD (QUOTE BY WARREN WIERSBE).

A CONFIDENT MIND IS AT PEACE WITH GOD. IT HAS LEARNED WISDOM’S WAY.

THE WORD HOPE MEANS TO EXPECT SOMETHING BENEFICIAL IN THE FUTURE. PSALMS (NKJV) 71:5 FOR YOU MY HOPE, O LORD GOD; (YOU ARE) MY TRUST FROM MY YOUTH. PRAYING IN FAITH, DAVID REFUSED TO ALLOW DOUBT TO ENTER HIS MIND REGARDING GOD’S GOODNESS TO HIM.

HEBREWS 11:1 (NASB) NOW FAITH IS THE ASSURANCE OF THINGS HOPED FOR, THE CONVICTION OF THINGS NOT SEEN.

APPLICATION: THROUGH THE REMARKABLE FAITHFULNESS OF CHRIST, YOU HAVE GREAT CONFIDENCE AND HOPE. HOLD FAST TO THESE TWO REALITIES TO THE END!
