Summary: Sermon Outline for Romans 12:1-2.

Open in prayer

Recap Last weeks Study

Three things will determine whether you will conquer or fall in living for Christ:

The changes you are willing to make. Has anything become more important to you than your relationship with Christ?

The choices you make. Are you willing to make only the choices that are pleasing to God?

The priorities that you live by. When others look at your life, can they tell that you are living for the Lord?

We need P.O.W.E.R. What must we do to get it? PRAY, OBEDIENCE, WORHIP, EVANGELIZE, READ

Romans 12

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your

reasonable service.

Living Sacrafices: Present yourself to God as an instrument of Rightousness [romans 6:13]

Holy: Set apart for the Lords use, Its Not your ability, its your availablility

Acceptable: pleasing to God

Reasonsable Service: Our natural reaction to all the the good gifts God has showered on us.

Romans 12

2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Conformed: means to “mold or form”

World: “Age or Era”

Transformed: “to change”

Instead of being molded by the values of this world, we need to be transformed, that is “changed” by the renewing of our mind. Spiritual transformaton starts in the mind and heart.

A mind dedicated to this world and its concerns will be tossed back and forth.

But a mind that is dedicated to God’s truth will produce a life that can stand the test of time.

What are we transformed into?

Transformed: into the image of God, Christ is the image of God

Transformed from glory to glory, an ever growing glory, as believers behold the glory of God in the word, the spirit of God transforms them into the likeness of Jesus Christ.

This is the discription of gradual sanctifacation.

So how can we renew our mind?

We can resist temptation by meditating on God’s truth and and allowing the Holy Spirit to guide and shape our thoughts and behavior.

Maybe you don’t want to be changed, come let us reason!

Some say, “ its my body I can do with it what I want”

Well “yes” and “no”

Its Gods body! He made you! But you can do with it what you will”

Come let us reason, what is better, a path of life or a path of death, the gates of Heaven or the gates of Hell?

"In one year, the average American will read or complete 3,000 notices and forms, read 100 newspapers and 36 magazines, watch 2,463 hours of television, listen to 730 hours of radio, buy 20 records, talk on the telephone almost 61 hours and read 3 books."

What are we giving our time to, How much is given to God.

If only 99.9% of planes landed, there would be 7-8 plane crashes a day, that’s 200-300 per plane, 1400 people a day. That is a lot of people. Now with God, if you don’t give him 100% then your missing a whole lot…In the plane statistics .1% made a big difference.

Moral of the story: If you don’t give Godjust .1% then your missing out on alot.

Come let us reason!
