Summary: What happens when a crisis hits your life? Isaiah 59:19

Crisis Time

Isaiah 59:19

9/24/05

So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy comes in like a flood. The spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.

What happens when a crisis hits?

How do you respond? Fear – Angry – Or some other way?

Times of crisis will hit everyone during his or her lifetime. No one is exempt from problems.

The first part of our text this morning clearly states that those that fear the Lord.

Let’s look at the word “ Standard = An established value of authority

God’s word is or standard!!!!!!

The grass will wither and the flowers will fade – But God’s word will stand forever!

We need to respond to crisis the way Isaiah 43:1-2 says to do:

But now says the Lord who created you and he who formed you. Fear not for I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name – You are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you and through the rivers they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.

There are three things we must do through tough times:

1. Relax in God’s plan

a. I have called you by your name

b. God has a plan for you!

c. God’s plan is always greater then the problem

2. Recognize God’s presence

a. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you.

b. Habitation is needed not visitation

3. Relay on God’s protection

a. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned

b. God solves your problems when you go through!

We need to be prepared for any changes
