Summary: The Christian Worldview has permeated all of Western Civilization. The impact of Christian thought is the source of the freedoms that we enjoy. To separate Biblical truth from our society is to doom our culture to self-destruction.

Matthew 5:13-20 NASB

13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men.

14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;

15 nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.

16 Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

17 “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill.

18 For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.

19 Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

20 “For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 22:36-40 NASB

36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?”

37 And He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’

38 This is the great and foremost commandment.

39 The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’

40 On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.”

Romans 12:2 (NASB)

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

Discovering a Biblical Worldview

The undiscovered country from whose bourn

No traveler returns, puzzles the will

And makes us rather bear those ills we have

Than fly to others that we know not of?

Hamlet: Act 3 Scene 1

Most people see the world in single frames rather than the whole picture.

Worldview – a way of understanding the world and your place in it

The Term Christian Means - To Be Like Christ.

In order to be like Christ we must:

1. Imitate His ACTIONS

2. Quote His WORDS

3. Follow His EXAMPLE

Our entire lives we have been told that this is enough:

TO OBEY

But blind obedience is not enough.

We Must THINK Like Jesus

Two principles help us to understand this mindset.

1. Use your GOD GIVEN INTELLECT

2. TRANSFORM the way that you think

The World divides the SECULAR from the SACRED.

But in reality they are INSEPERABLE.

The Christian Worldview has permeated all of Western Civilization. The impact of Christian thought is the source of the freedoms that we enjoy. To separate Biblical truth from our society is to doom our culture to self-destruction.
