Summary: God checks your bag (life) if there are dishonest scales and ill-gotten wealth or looted money; if you are enjoying and making use of the benefits of a product that you have not paid for, this also gets added to the category of ‘loot’.

Dishonest weights

Deuteronomy 25:13 (quickview)  "You shall not have in your bag differing weights, a heavy and a light.

• You shall not have in your house differing measures, a large and a small.

• You shall have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure, that your days may be lengthened in the land which the LORD your God is giving you.

God checks your bag (life) if there are dishonest scales and ill-gotten wealth or looted money; if you are enjoying and making use of the benefits of a product that you have not paid for, this also gets added to the category of ‘loot’. I am speaking loud and clear today with relevant scriptures lifted so that you understand it’s God speaking with you!

Jeffrey Archer, world renowned author said this about India:” Piracy is another irritant. There was this little boy selling pirated books who knocked at my car window and asked if I needed the latest Archer. I told him I am the latest Archer. It is sad. Publishing industry employs a lot of people, bookshops put in huge efforts and money to bring out and sell a book. A lot of lives depend on it. And they steal your books and put it out at half the price.” Though Mr.Archer has got a huge gamut of fans in India, he talked with pain about the prevailing virus of book piracy in India. It does not raise eye-brows or none beat themselves over this petty-theft in India – its norm here. I happened to read an article in the News paper on illegal music/movie sharing, but throughout the article, I did a microscopic search to see if there was a ‘harsh whip word’ against it – I found none. Besides pirated books, there is whole lot of other pirated stuff that is deliciously embraced by all – who would want to buy something that is available absolutely free and easily accessible???

An assembled computer filled with loads of pirated software is more enticing than to buy a computer with licensed software which may definitely be more expensive compared to the former one. Look! Why do we choose the option of shelling out more money to buy something when the same is available for lesser value??? A person who has read the Bible do it because that is the right thing to do. Amen. Recently when we purchased books for our school children, we had to pay tax money which was pretty high because we demanded for bill, the sales man gave us a weird looks, so as to say, ‘crackpots.’ When you tell your friends, ‘please pay for the music you hear’, they would look at you and say, ‘crackpot.’ If you tell your friend, ‘ hey, you better buy a licensed Microsoft office windows software and install it in your computer, he would give you a dirty look and call you crackpot. By the way, let me pause here and speak to each one of you, ‘do you guys have licensed software or are you running on stolen stuff?’ Ponder! I sternly warn you today, God has said, “Proverbs 11:1 (quickview)  “Dishonest scales are an abomination to the LORD, But a just weight is His delight.”
