Divine Nature Of Jesus Christ

Summary: Jesus reflects the one who gave Him God the Father God’s gift of His Son reflects knowledge of our needs the gift of Jesus is of a nature and quality that will hold its value as time goes on
** Jesus reflects the one who gave Him
__God the Father
** God’s gift of His Son reflects knowledge of our needs
** the gift of Jesus is of a nature and quality that will hold its value as time goes on
** Jesus was God in the flesh
** How would know that Jesus was God?
** would He force people to believe in Him?
__John 6:2
**what about those who refuse to believe that He was God?
**what about those who believed; who followed Him?
**what would God in the flesh expect from them(disciples/followers)?
** what if they failed?
__Romans *;28
** John is not telling us of the beginning of the world
__but that before the universe existed Jesus Christ was
** John 1:18
__”no has ever seen God ”__means that our knowledge of God did not come from any man but from our Lord Jesus
** God has no beginning and no end
__therefore, God is eternal
__ Isaiah 44:6
__man, in this world has nothing to explain the concept of existence without “time, space, and matter”
** “God is spirit” __John 14:24
__He exists outside of the universe
__ we exist in time, but God our creator exists outside the limits of time, space and matter
__ this is not the truth we can understand therefore we accept it without understanding it
__it is called Faith
** John 17:1-5
__Jesus is eternal as is God the Father
** when Jesus was born it was not His beginning
__His birth was His “incarnation”
__” incarnation” __the embodiment of God the Son in human form
** Jesus was fully man and fully God

__Jesus is the source of life
__ not just physical, and natural life but also spiritual life
** John 1:4

__” understood” __in Greek is translated “apprehend” or “lay hold of”
** John 1:6-9
__this explains the spiritual nature of the coming of the Messiah and His kingdom

__Jesus is life and gives life to those who will accept it
__it is not by works, it is by faith
** John 3:5-8
** Jesus lived a sinless life
__He took the punishment that we deserve
** Gold is used to describe fire and fire represents the presence of God
__yellow symbolizes faith and glory of God
** Colossians 1:15 and Colossians 2:9
__Jesus Christ is not only to God, He is God
__Jesus not only reflects God, He reveals God
** Jesus had to work
__ He was a carpenter, or contractor which means Jesus had t face all the challenges of any human being running a business
__He had to be an in-law, He had to face challenges as a brother in-law to the wives of His brothers
(Mark 6:3)
__Jesus had to live without a Father
__Jesus’s Father died early in His life
__Jesus had to take care of His widowed mother
** Truth__knowledge of things as they are, as they were, and as they are to come
__Jesus was born into the humblest of circumstance and walked the dusty roads without a place to lay His head
__ Isaiah 53:2
** Jesus got tired (John 4:6)
**Jesus thirsts (John 19:28)
**Jesus suffered temptations
**the devil tempted our Lord with emotions
__ill-temper
__impatience
__envy
__unkindness
__hatred
**although He was moved with emotions there was essential difference between His expression of them and ours
__Jesus emotions were always under control
** in the midst of misunderstanding He was patient
__in times of opposition, He maintained His dignity
**when our savior shall appear
__” we shall see Him as He is” (1 John 3:2)
**Jesus is the only begotten Son of God in the flesh
__chosen to be “the way, the truth, and life” (John 14:6)
