Summary: You have to look at the overall out come and put the small stuff in perspective, Don’t ignore the small stuff but at the same time don’t sweat it.
Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff
Joshua 10: 25-26
3 Therefore Adoni-Zedek king of Jerusalem sent to Hoham king of Hebron, Piram king of Jarmuth, Japhia king of Lachish, and Debir king of Eglon, saying, 4 “Come up to me and help me, that we may attack Gibeon, for it has made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel.” 5 Therefore the five kings of the Amorites, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon, gathered together and went up, they and all their armies, and camped before Gibeon and made war against it.
1) Adonizedek - king of Jerusalem – Lord of a Town
2) Hoham - king of Hebron – Woe to Them
3) Piram king of Jarmuth – Like a wild ass
4) Japhia - king of Lachish – Enlightening
5) Debir king of Eglon – A word
5 Amorite Kings of Palestine who had joined together to overthrow Gibeon Greg because they had made peace with Joshua and the Children of I srael
Joshua – Jehovah the Savior
You can always expect resistance when you have made alliance ( Bond or Connection) with whom the enemy calls an enemy.
25And Joshua said unto them, Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage: for thus shall the LORD do to all your enemies against whom ye fight.
26And afterward Joshua smote them, and slew them, and hanged them on five trees: and they were hanging upon the trees until the evening.
Joshua Said: There is no progress without progress being spoken first
Joshua Said: 1) Fear Not 2) Be Not Dismayed 3) Be Strong 4) Be Courageous
1) Fear not – Don’t be Apprehensive
2) Be Not Dismayed – Don’t be upset
3) Be Strong - Be Effective or Efficient especially in a specified direction
4) Be Courageous – Be Brave
Fight to the Finish
10 A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. 12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
