I. We Have Peace With God (v. 1)
“…we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” – v. 1
A. Peace concerning being an enemy of God
“And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy and blameless and above reproach…” – Col. 1:21-22
B. Peace concerning fear in the present
1. Peace from fear of falling from grace
2. Peace from being conquered by Satan
C. Peace concerning fear of the future
II. We Have a Position to Stand In (v. 2)
A. Our position grants us access to God (Hebrews 10:19-21)
1. Access to God through prayer (Hebrews 4:16)
2. Access to God through worship (Matt. 27:51)
3. Access to God through the Spirit
B. Our position grants us security
“..in which we stand…” – v. 2b
1. Because of who completed the work (Phil.1:6)
2. Because of who is holding us (John 10:28-29)
C. Our position grants us a certain future
“..an rejoice in hope of the glory of God..” – v. 2c
III. We Have Progress to Make (v. 3-5)
A. Our progression grows through tribulation
B. Our progression reveals who we are in Christ
C. Our progression is anchored in hope
IV. We Have a Pardon that is Priceless (v. 6-9)
A. Our pardon is unexplainable
“..in due time Christ died for the ungodly.” – v. 6
B. Our pardon was undeserved
1. Undeserved because of our nature
2. Undeserved because of His perfection
3. Undeserved, but given out of grace
C. Our pardon can save us from God’s wrath
“…we shall be saved from wrath through Him.” – v. 9
