Summary: What goes up must come down. A message that shows how we need to be careful about what we are sending up.

Evaporation Condensation Precipitation

Text: Job 36:27,28 For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof: Which the clouds do drop [and] distil upon man abundantly.

The laws that govern rain are:

Evaporation, condensation, precipitation.

Evaporation is that which heat causes to be sent skyward.

Condensation is a coalescing of that which has evaporated.

Precipitation is the falling to earth of that which has ascended to heaven.

1. Evaporation is that which heat causes to be sent skyward.

Job was such a valuable diamond there had to be more cutting of him then a regular gem, a more intricate shape was decided upon.

He was such a beautiful gem that more polishing was decreed to further bring out the luster.

He was such a good piece of ore, that once more in the fire would only bring out the finer piece of metal. In other words, God decreed more evaporation in his life, for the greater good of all.

a. Evaporation can be said to be the theft of water, in proportion to the heat applied.

The sun steals from us water, it does it at times when we hardly notice it, and it does it at times we are painfully aware of each drop water we lose.

We are sometimes like the widow woman, we only have a little left, and we decry its loss, unlike us she willingly gave it up by faith.

John 7:37-39 - keep on believing even in a time of evaporation. Wells will open up.

Evaporation is that which heat causes to be sent skyward.

What is the heat causing to be sent skyward from you?

Jonah when heated sent up garbage. Jonah 4:5-11

He draws up the drops of water. He is looking for the distilled pure water.

There is such a thing as personal evaporation, and corporate evaporation. (In general whole areas are subject to certain levels of evaporation, condensation, and precipitation. But some areas within those general areas can vary widely.)

b. Evaporation is part of God’s process of cleansing the "air."

Sometimes the "air," gets a little stale and God wants to clean it.

Sometimes the atmosphere is dirtier than we are willing to admit.

To cleanse the air God cycles us through the process of evaporation, condensation and precipitation.

2. Condensation is a coalescing of that which has evaporated.

This passage teaches us the simple process we know as rain.

Now observe the teaching of Zechariah 14:16,17

No worship, no rain.

Evaporation and condensation are the processes by which something from the earth is given to the sky where it gathers and collects.

What is coalescing in heaven from your life?

What do you want to be coalescing.

Send up praise, send up worship, send up faithfulness.

Hosea 10:12 Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for [it is] time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.

a. Condensation is that mysterious process whereby God collects water until the cloud is full, and the rain will be most beneficial to fulfill God’s purposes.

It rains when God says it will rain.

It rains where God says it will rain.

It rains how much God says it will rain.

It rains for as long as God says it will rain.

There is much of the sovereignty of God in the process of rain.

Having said all that about the sovereignty of God and rain, I remind you of Elijah who

prayed and it did not rain, and who prayed again and it rained abundantly. God responds to prayer requests for rain.

b. Condensation is a process that epitomizes of the laws of sowing and reaping.

You always reap what has been sown.

You always reap more than you’ve sown. (30, 60, 100)

How much water have you evaporated. Yet you have reaped much more.

c. Condensation is a coalescing of that which has evaporated.

Be sure you evaporate the right things.

3. Precipitation is the falling to earth of that which has ascended to heaven.

What goes up must come down.

What has gone up is coming down. (Are you happy with what is coming down?)

What is going up will come down. (Are you excited about what will be coming down?)

If you are being heated by the sun, send up praises, they will come down as abundant rain.

Close: Prayer for those who realize they have been sending the wrong things heavenward. (Complaints instead of praises)
