VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. Appointed to act on behalf of men in things relating to GOD

"FOR EVERY high priest chosen from among men is appointed to act on behalf of men in things relating to God,"

For a man to qualify as a high priest, he first needs to be a human being and appointed or ordained, both are satisfied by CHRIST.

Ordained or appointed means:

1. to place down

2. to designate

3. to appoint, conduct, make, ordain, set

Hebrews 10:11 (Amplified Bible)

10:11 Furthermore, every [human] priest stands [at his altar of service] ministering daily, offering the same sacrifices over and over again, which never are able to strip [from every side of us] the sins [that envelop us] and take them away—

Exodus 28:1-4 (Amplified Bible)

28:1 FROM AMONG the Israelites take your brother Aaron and his sons with him, that he may minister to Me in the priest’s office, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron’s sons.

28:2 And you shall make for Aaron your brother sacred garments [appointed official dress set apart for special holy services] for honor and for beauty.

28:3 Tell all who are expert, whom I have endowed with skill and good judgment, that they shall make Aaron’s garments to sanctify him for My priesthood.

28:4 They shall make these garments: a breastplate, an ephod [a distinctive vestment to which the breastplate was to be attached], a robe, long and sleeved tunic of checkerwork, a turban, and a sash or band. They shall make sacred garments for Aaron your brother and his sons to minister to Me in the priest’s office.

JESUS is our Chief High Priest because He's a Perfect representative of both GOD and men, as He is called Mediator. CHRIST is Only One Perfect Mediator.

1 Timothy 2:5 (Amplified Bible)

2:5 For there [is only] one God, and [only] one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,

B. To offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins

"to offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins"

Hebrews 8:3 (Amplified Bible)

8:3 For every high priest is appointed to offer up gifts and sacrifices; so it is essential for this [High Priest] to have some offering to make also.

Hebrews 9:9 (Amplified Bible)

9:9 Seeing that that first [outer portion of the] tabernacle was a parable (a visible symbol or type or picture of the present age). In it gifts and sacrifices are offered, and yet are incapable of perfecting the conscience or of cleansing and renewing the inner man of the worshiper.

Abel, a type of CHRIST, is the first high priest, in which his blood was offered to GOD, he needed to die because he's innocent.

Hebrews 11:4 (Amplified Bible)

11:4 [Prompted, actuated] by faith Abel brought God a better and more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, because of which it was testified of him that he was righteous [that he was upright and in right standing with God], and God bore witness by accepting and acknowledging his gifts. And though he died, yet [through the incident] he is still speaking.

JESUS, our Great High Priest, both offered as the Great High Priest, offered Himself as gifts and sacrifices for sins.

2 Corinthians 5:21 (Amplified Bible)

5:21 For our sake He made Christ [virtually] to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in and through Him we might become [endued with, viewed as being in, and examples of] the righteousness of God [what we ought to be, approved and acceptable and in right relationship with Him, by His goodness].

IX. CONCLUSION:

Declare "CHRIST JESUS is my Perfect High Priest because He's the Perfect Man appointed by FATHER GOD."
