Faith: A Matter of Trust

Much has been taught, preached and spoken of on the subject of faith. Some feel like that they have a superior faith than others; they believe they have arrived unto a higher level with God through their faith.

1. God Is No Respecter of Persons.

First, I want to share with you that God is no respecter of persons. God doesn’t care about our status, our nationality, race or locality. Your name or lack a name doesn’t matter to God. The only qualification needed in our life for God work in our life is a personal relationship with His Son, Jesus. If we are born again, we are a child of God and He has no favorites.

Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: 35But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

Acts 10:34 - 35 (KJV)

Then Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. 35But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.

Acts 10:34 - 35 (NKJV)

Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism 35but accepts men from every nation who fear him and do what is right.

Acts 10:34 - 35 (NIV)

2. God Desires A Personal Relationship With You.

Secondly, God wants us to walk in and live daily in the faith that He has instilled in our hearts.

For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.

Romans 12:3 (NKJV)

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)

3. Faith: A Matter of Trust.

Thirdly, the whole matter of faith can be summed up in the word trust.

Some chose to limit God by not trusting Him to work in every area to the entire lives. They are fearful of trusting Him to work in their marriage, their personal finances (fearful in the area of tithing and giving), rearing of their children, etc. (on their jobs)

God gives us a great promise of blessing when we fully place our faith in Him and wholly trust Him.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Proverbs 3:5 - 6 (NKJV)

Simply put faith is trusting God, above all others and other things. Daily we must put our trust in things. As you sat down this morning you placed your trust in the chair that you are sitting in right now. You trusted that it would hold you, and not collapse leaving you sitting on the floor. As you got in car this morning you trusted it to get you here safely. This is all that is required in this journey call life. We must wholly trust God’s working in our lives.

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.

Psalms 20:7 (NIV)

Conclusion

Are you fully trusting God today in every area of your life and walk with Him? Are you willing to fall back into the arms of God and trust Him to God in/with your life? He wants to bless you and me as we surrender our will with His will for our lives.

As we place our trust in Him it opens the door to a joy that world cannot give or take away.

Be joyful always; 17pray continually; 18give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 5:16 - 18 (NIV)
