The greatest news mankind has ever heard! Jesus the Son of God has come to earth to forgive sins. This Good News message are the greatest words ever spoken which came out of the lips of God in the flesh. It is God loving us, not angels, not kings or rulers, but God Himself who loves you. This love is not just a general love but a love that has no bounds yet is directing also to you personally. God's love gave His Son, it had a great cost, sacrifice to it. God gave what was most precious to Him so that He could gain you as His child also. It was not one of his many Sons that He gave but rather his only Son. Jesus tells us a parable of a land owner who gave some responsibility to his field. After some time this land owner wanted to simply check on his land and get some of the wages due to the profits of the harvest. But a terrible thing happened, the very slaves and attendants that worked the land conspired to hurt and beat this messenger that was sent and he left empty handed.
Shocked and dismayed the land owner sent again others who would seek to get the wages due to him and others they beat and some they even severely wounded and killed. In dismay he sent his only son, thinking that of course they would respect him and realize they have done great wrong. But the most shocking thing happened, they thought this is the heir let us kill him and we might be able to have the property forever to ourselves in our control. When the land owner found that his son was killed he was outraged. The parable ends with a question. What should that landowner do with those servants who killed his son. The answer came from the very lips of the Pharisees in Jesus day saying: "That he should kill those unworthy attendants and servants." A shocking story indeed, but what is more shocking is that Jesus was not telling really a story but sharing of what was actually going to happen. That world, religious leaders included, would all agree in unison to crucify the very Son of God who came to give them life. That should bring humility in our hearts to realize we have all sinned against the Heavenly Father and took part as the human race in murdering his Son. If we were alive then we would have done the same thing. But the Good News is if you call out to Jesus He will not only forgive you but give you new life that is eternal, which He promised. Amen.
