WHAT IS YOUR PURPOSE IN LIFE? This Mothers Day sermon is geared to both men and women, and can be used anytime for understanding our purpose in life. Based on the Life of Esther, who was not necessarily known as a mother, we are all here for a specific time and purpose. See the Outline at the end of the message.

Today is Mothers day. We honor our mothers and our women and moms on this special day. We thank and praise God for our mothers, who cared for us each and every day.

Who cooked our meals, washed our clothes, bathed and combed our hair. Changed our diapers!

We remember our mothers today with loving thoughts. Hopefully.

Ladies, Moms, Gentlemen. You are here because the Lord has purposed you to be here.

YOU HAVE A PURPOSE FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS.

A MOM’S PURPOSE – TO OUR MOTHERS

Just a few weeks ago, we celebrated Terri’s Grandmother’s 90th birthday. On the favors for the party, were reflected the words of Proverbs 31:16 which tells us that…with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

We are reminded by this verse of the blessing that she has been to our family and the “seeds” of faith she has planted in our lives...

Ladies and Gentlemen, We are all to sow seeds of faith. Wherever we go. By our deeds, our actions, our words, our body language.

Moms, You are a mom for a purpose. To see that your children love and serve the Lord. As children you nourished them and cared for them. You have taught them through the school years, and seen them grow to be adults and have children. Some of you have even seen your children’s children, to have children. Your purpose continues. You are here for such a time as this, to teach them and share with them, about Christ. EPH 1:12

How does a mother love her children? What is so special about a Mother’s love. Men can love their children, I love my children. But I have never experienced or am able to understand what a woman goes through, and the love she has for the unborn baby growing in her belly. For 9 months (times 4) I sat on the sideline waiting for my children to be born. Yet, the woman I married, my wife Terri, every hour, minute and second of every day, was with that child. Nurturing and caring for it, even inside the womb.

OUR PURPOSE - FOR EACH OF US, MEN AND WOMEN ALIKE

Ladies, Gentlemen. You are here for a purpose. You are even in this building for a purpose. You are here for your neighbors.

Jesus said…Love The LORD with all your Heart, Mind and Strength. But he also said something else… Love your Neighbor as yourself.

We can learn from our mothers, to how we can care for our neighbors. When in need, we can lend a hand. We can give share a bowl of soup or a cup of tea. With a card we can lift a spirit. Not only can we learn from our Mothers, but we can also learn from Jesus.

Esther 4:14 KJV

14For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

Esther 4:14 NKJV

For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

Do not keep silent. You are here, where you are today, for this time in your lives, for a good reason…for such a time as this!

Proclaim the Lord to others around you. It is your destiny

Ecclesiastes 3:1

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven

Ecclesiastes 3:17

I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.

Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Ephesians 1:11-12

In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
