Summary: The Bible is clear with respect to what pleases God and those things that do not please Him. God wants to honor His people, but they must honor Him as well.

The sons of Eli did not honor God at all. Eli was guilty of honoring his sons more than he honored God. He ended up paying a terrible consequence for his actions. 1 Sam. 2:29

How must we honor God?

I. With your Time

---David sought the Lord early

---Samuel began as a child in his dedication and service

Salmo 27:4 "that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life" ----The thought here is that of being found always in the presence of the Lord.

---Daniel took time to call on the Lord three times every day.

---The most important part of your day is the time that you share with Jesus.

----Enoch walked with God, and God took him. (Gen. 5:24)

II. With your Talents

I believe that every Christian has at least one talent. Sometimes that talent may yet be hidden or it may not be developed. Seek your talent and/or gift.

-David was a musician and played for the glory of God

-Noah was a carpenter, and he built the Ark

-Luke was a doctor and he offered his services for the kingdom of God

III. With your Treasures (Priorities)

Matthew 6:21 "Where your treasure, there will your heart be also"

A persons' priorities are revealed in where he or she spends his (her) energy, his (her) money, and his (her) time.

It is very difficult to fake your interests.

2 Co. 4:7 says that we have this treasure in earthen vessels. Adam was created from the dust of the earth. D. C. Branham used to say, "I'm mud and you're mud, and who is afraid of mud".

IV. With your Threads (Tanks & Trousers)

The angels cover all their body and even their feet to give honor unto God.

Moses covered his whole person while in the presence of God.

Peter jumped in the sea because he was half naked when Jesus showed up.

After being set free, the demoniac was found clothed.

Paul admonishes the believers to be decently and modestly covered.

There is a reason that God commands a distinction of the sexes.

V. With your Temple

1 Co. 6:19 “know he not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost?”

Eat right. Get proper rest. Exercise regularly.

Don’t pollute your body with fornication, liquor, drugs, tattoos, piercings, cosmetics, jewelry, etc....

VI. In the Tabernacle

Be faithful to the house of God —Heb. 10:25

Respect

Be reverent

Participate

VII. In Time of Temptation

2 Tim. 2:22. Flee youthful lusts

Joseph fled from a seductive leader’s wife

Lot fled from Sodom

Moses left the pleasures of Egypt

Job lost family, possessions, and health, but he never gave up on God. In the end he got back twice as much as he had in the beginning.
