I God Is Faithful

Heb 10:23

23Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering;

(for he is faithful that promised;)

1. FAITHFUL TO HIS NAME

Rev 19:11

11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

2. FAITHFUL IN HIS PROMISES

Deut 7:9

9 Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

3. FAITHFUL WHEN WE ARE NOT

2 Tim 2:13-14

13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

4. FAITHFUL TO FORGIVE

1 John 1:9

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

5. FAITHFUL IN TEMPTATION

1 Cor 10:13

13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

6. FAITHFUL IN SALVATION

1 Tim 1:15

15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

II. We should be Faithful

1 Cor 4:1 Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.

2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

3 But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man’s judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self.

Every Christian is a steward.

A STEWARD IS ONE WHO HAS BEEN GREAT GIVEN A JOD TO DO.

Def: He manages or orders the property of another

THE BIBLE DEF. Luke 12:42-43

42 And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?

43 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

BE FAITHFUL! Requirement is not to be talented, but to be faithful.

What does it mean to be faithful? Dictionary defines "faithful" -- Firm in a belief, to the truth and to the duty; reliable; dependable; honest; loyal. Consistent in the performance of duties or service. Steady; not fickle."

1 Cor 4:2Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

III. Things we Should Be Faithful to.

1) Faithful to Gods word

2 Tim 2:2

2And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

2) Faithful to God Work

Heb 10:24

24And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

3) Faithful to Gods House

Heb 10:25

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Faithfulness dose not come Natural

Prov 20:6...........but a faithful man who can find?

How do We develop faithfulness into their character?

I. Faithful in matters of Practice "disciplines"

A faithful man disciplines himself to do what he should do. It involves saying "yes" to some thing’s and "no" to other things.

Rom 7:15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.

II. FAITHFULNESS IS A MATTER OF PRINCIPLE.

Our loyalties should be to principles, not institutions. If a school, church, or business changes it’s principles, then you should remain true to biblical principles.

III. FAITHFULNESS IS A MATTER OF PRIORITIES.

A faithful man can be counted on; is on time for appointments; keeps his commitments and honors his word, Put God first in Everything

Ex 20:3-4

3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

CONCLUSION: Every steward will give account of his stewardship to God

Luke 16: 1. And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods.

2 And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward.
