Summary: In this series I am going to attempt to teach who God really is. Christians, and those in the world get this view of who they think God is, yet it does not quite show the whole image of who God is.

Who is God? Most people today begin to form their own personal opinion on what they think God is like or what He should be like. This, my friends, is the beginning of idoltry. We all have done it. We say, "well if God is so loving, why is there so much cruelty in the world?" Let’s not make assumptions on God. Lets learn about Him in His word.

God is Light, He is Love, and He is Life. These are three things that we must begin to understand, so that we may come into a closer fellowship with God. See, when we begin to recognize Him, we can begin to see Him more clearly.

It is important in our Christian walk that we begin to

understand who God is. We know Him on the level that we

talk with Him, pray to Him, and live for Him. But to have a

deep fellowship in Him we must understand the

characteristics that He possesses.

Once our eyes are opened to the characteristics of God, we can begin to recognize Him in,

our works, our thoughts, our hearts, and what comes from our mouths.

GOD IS LIGHT

1 John 1:5- "This is the message we have heard from

Him and declare to you: God is light; In Him there is no

darkness."

>>>>In this scripture we must understand that darkness

should mean evil. And light to be goodness or righteousness.

>>>>God is good! Since he is righteousness we cannot even

begin to expect that we can find an ounce of evil in or near

God. Every aspect of God declares righteousness and he will

come to defeat evil in the coming days.

1 John 1:7- "But if we walk in the light as He is in

the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood

of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin."

>>>>The Blood of Christ cleans us, and makes us pure so we

have the ability to abide in God. Jesus said, "No one comes to

the Father except through me." So the only way to reach God

is accepting that His Son came and was slain for our sins.

>>>>The world is full of disgusting people. They love to

dwell in their sins. As we begin to walk in light, we receive

the Holy Ghost in is that we may be led according to God’s

will. His will is that we denounce every deed that does not

glorify Him. Those deeds are otherwise known as sins.

>>>>It is true. God is not sinful. He hates sin. So while we

live in sin, we are distanced from God. We cannot come to the

Father because nothing clean can come into his presence.

1 John 2:4- "The man who says, ’I know Him’, yet

does not do what He commands is a liar, and the truth is not

in him."

>>>>Everyone of us knows a Christian or two that confess to

follow God, yet they are living an extremely worldly life.

They are liars to themselves, to you, and to God the Father.

You CANNOT live a life of sin, yet follow God. Jesus said,

"Go and sin no more." That is pretty clear. These people

claiming to follow God have a false image on. A double life

so to speak. In God we receive a new life in the Holy Ghost.

>>>>Being free from sin/darkness, we must follow God’s

commands. Those would be the Great Commission, Ten

Commandments, and to Love one another.

>>>>In our walk in light, two road blocks "try" to hinder us.

1. Falling in love with the world. 1 John 2:15

2. The Anti-Christ. Or false teachings. 1 John 2:18-25

GOD IS LOVE

1 John 3:1- "How great is the love the Father has

lavished on us, that we should be called children of of God!

And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know

us is that it did not know Him."

>>>>See, the love of God allows us to become His very own

children. The children of Light. (John 3:16)

>>>>Even though we were living in sin, Christ was sent that

we can be justified through the washing of His blood.

1 John 3:11- "This is the message you have heard

from the beginning; we should love one another."

>>>>GOD IS LOVE!!!! By becoming His children it is

indeed proper that we begin to copy Him. We must show one

another God’s love. God loved us first, so we develop the love

for Him, and then the love for everyone around us. Hating

one another is not God’s plan or intentions for anyone. The

only hate that should be in us is the hate towards sin.

>>>>Loving through God helps us to manage our actions and
