God Is Mmm Mmm Good!

Summary: Like the old Campbells soup commercial, those who serve God know that He too is "Mmmmm Mmmmm Good!"
GOD IS Mmmm Mmmm GOOD!
INTRO: HOW MANY REMEMBER THE OLD CAMPBELL SOUP COMMERCIAL WHICH SAID THE SOUP WAS ________ __________ GOOD! THAT'S RIGHT IT WAS MMMMM MMMMM GOOD! JUST LIKE THE SOUP, THOSE WHO HAVE SERVED THE LORD FOR ANY LENGTH OF TIME HAVE LEARNED THAT HE TOO IS MMMM MMMM GOOD!
HALLELUJAH! LET'S READ OUR OPENING TEXT.
1 Pet 2:3(KJV), “If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.”
I. HE SAVED US - TITUS 3:3-7
3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

A. WE WERE LAWLESS AND WE DIDN’T DESERVE IT!
B. HE KEPT AFTER US . . .
Reuben Donnelly Company of Chicago is the nations largest printer of magazines. They have a huge machine that sends out notices . . .
One day, a tiny spring broke and a rancher in Powder Bluff, Colorado, received 9,734 notices that his subscription to the National Geographic had expired. He rode the 10 miles to the Poffice, sent his money, and wrote, “send me the magazine, I give up!”
That’s how God brought many of us to salvation. He hit us with the message so many times that we had to give up.
C. HE PAID FOR IT WITH HIS OWN LIFE
II. HE LOVES US - ROM. 5:5
A wealthy old man was married to a young bride. He loved her a great deal, but was bothered by the recurring though that she just married him for his money. So . . . he asked her one day, “If I lost all of my money, would you still love me?” She replied, “Of Course I would still love you. Don’t be silly. But I would miss you!”

5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

God flooding through our hearts by the Holy Spirit

B. WHEN WE SHUN THE HOLY SPIRIT, WE ARE IN ESSENCE SHUNNING THE LOVE OF GOD - EPHESIANS 4:30
III. HE BLESSES US - GEN. 48:3
Gen 48:3
3 And Jacob said unto Joseph, God Almighty appeared unto me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and
blessed me,
A cluster of small boys were hanging outside of a football stadium, because they didn’t have enough money to get into the game. An older respectable gentlemen came over to the ticket taker and said with authority, “Let these boys into the game and tell me how many there are. IV. HE IS PATIENT AND MERCIFUL TO US
13 And after all that is come upon us for our evil deeds, and for our great trespass, seeing that thou our God hast punished us less than our iniquities deserve, and hast given us such deliverance as this;

Rom. 2: (Philips), “Are you, perhaps, misinterpreting God’s genorosity and patient mercy towards you as weakness on His part? Don’t you realize that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance? Or are you by your obstinate refusal to repent simply storing up for yourself and experience of wrath of God in the day of His anger when He shows His hand in righteous judgment?
V. HE HELPS US - JOHN 16:7-10
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter(HELPER) will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
