I. EXORDIUM:

Are you strong because of the vitamins?

II. AUDIENCE PROFILE:

Believer

III. OBJECTIVES:

To prove that GOD made us strong

IV. TEXT:

Zechariah 10:12 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

By my power I will make my people strong, and by my authority they will go wherever they wish. I, the Lord, have spoken!”

V. THESIS:

By GOD's Power and Authority, He has made us strong and we can go wherever we wish.

VI. TITLE:

GOD Made us Strong

VII. EXPLICATION:

A. Author: Zechariah = son of Berekiah and grandson of Iddo (Zechariah 1:1)

Zechariah 1:1 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

In November of the second year of King Darius’s reign, the Lord gave this message to the prophet Zechariah son of Berekiah and grandson of Iddo:

B. Time: October and November, 520 B.C.

C. Theme: Highly Figurative

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. GOD will make us strong

Strengthen = from Hebrew word: gaw-bar meaning "prevails", "confirm", "be great", "be valiant", and "be mighty"

Since GOD already made (past tense) us strong, we need to move by faith and claim what is ours, that is we need to prevail over this wordly system and be mighty for GOD is with us.

1. By His Power (2 Peter 1:3)

a. It's GOD's Divine Power within us that allows us to live a godly life like CHRIST

2 Peter 1:3 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.

2. By His Authority (2 Corinthians 2:17)

a. As we are doing GOD's will in this world, GOD is watching us as we fulfill this with sincerity and with CHRIST's authority.

2 Corinthians 2:17 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

You see, we are not like the many hucksters who preach for personal profit. We preach the word of God with sincerity and with Christ’s authority, knowing that God is watching us.

3. We will go wherever we wish (Colossians 3:17)

a. Thanks to the Power and Authority of the LORD JESUS CHRIST we can do whatever pleases and gives glory to our GOD, the Father, thru LORD JESUS CHRIST and in the Power of the Holy Spirit.

Colossians 3:17 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.

B. GOD has spoken (Numbers 23:19)

1. Whenever GOD speaks, we listen, for He's not like a man that fails us and does not change His Mind, when He speaks, He does it.

Numbers 23:19 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?

IX. CONCLUSION:

Exodus 15:2 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him— my father’s God, and I will exalt him!
